Al Goodwyn Editorial Cartoons

Al Goodwyn began cartooning in 1989, applying his physics education and technical experience to create science-themed cartoons for an international physics publication for the next 28 years. In 1997, he expanded into editorial cartooning for a local newspaper. Since then, his work has been widely featured, earning numerous editorial cartooning awards.

Most recently, Goodwyn won first place in the 2023 Green Eyeshade Award for editorial cartooning in the Southeast. His other honors include first-place awards from the South Carolina Press Association in 2018 and 2019, and the 2019 Dateline Award from the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Goodwyn signed with Creators Syndicate in 2020 and produces four cartoons per week. While his work leans conservative, he often skewers all sides.
