P3: If he’s having a heart attack ack ack ack ack ack ack, he needs to drop out of the race. Perhaps this is too much excitement for him….Lizabeth, I’m comin’ to be with you!

So, does everyone else think Gil used pie to bribe Ed Asner to retire on the condition that Complainin’ Abe tone it down so that Zane and Abel can both be on the coveted library board?

P1 the dream of second in the Valley falls short – of the outfield grass

Soooo all the drama and excitement about Zane(y) coming out of “retirement” to pitch senior year made a difference, how?

P2 ohhhhh Zane(y), can I play with your sword instead?

P3 with all the hype about the library board seat, how come Marji or some other media nudge hasn’t ferreted out the results and broke the story? The board has only been deliberating for nearly a month (in Milford time)

I wouldn’t want either of those guys on the library committee. Zane is a nice guy, but inexperienced and likely to be heading off to college. Mr. Burrito pays attention to budgets, but is a jerk who doesn’t know squat about libraries.

Maybe they’ll put Gil on the library board for his negotiating skills and the fact he ages very slowly (maybe 15 years older than he was 75 years ago).

Another year in Milford sports has mercifully run its course. Jealousy, pettiness, narcissism have dominated a school year where Marty Moon’s conduct was, well quite lame. Three more panels down and we are that much closer to Country Time Lemonade and MCC.

…and thus we move forward to six weeks of the obligatory summer storyline at Milford CC.

While they’re at the library maybe they should check out a copy of “Romeo and Juliet” so they can see how it ends.

They add another member to the board so both can serve. But it is now an even number and years of partisan gridlock ensues. Library closes.

P1, Looks like 22 had an accident in shop class. All the shop teachers I ever had were missing at least part of one finger. Looks like this guy clipped the tip off of all of them.

P2, Oh, how sweet, Eskimo kisses.

P3, Zane, you’re a senior, you don’t have to pledge allegiance to Gil anymore, you’re almost out of this strip for good.

Kudos to TheBrownStarfish for calling Butt Muench’s warning track power yesterday. So, with second (or third?) place in the Valley assured, the next three days we’ll finally see the wrap up of the Milford Library drama, Zany and Katiepie’s swan song, lemonades on the Thorp back deck and a hint of the thrilling(?) summer story. Too bad it won’t include little Kaylie.

And thank you R&W for giving us snarkers the latest euphemism, as in “Yeah, I can’t wait for the moonlight action at Milford Lake where, if we’re lucky, we’ll get to jab a couple of Capulets.”

Am I the only one that thinks there are going to magically be two positions that are filled for this ridiculous board?

Yeah, I was right. Butt Munch wasn’t the hero, just the final feeble batter. At least the game was exciting, with the sacrifice fly and the Milford player swinging at a pitch behind his back, leading up to the final weak KRAK!. My heart could barely stand the suspense.

More with the stupid Romeo and Juliet sword fighting “joke”? How many times are they going to go back to it? This is two too many already.

Big announcement, ha ha ha. I guess in Milford this is the event of the year. Television, radio, newspapers, everyone will be covering this. They’re treating it like LeBron’s The Decision stupidity.

And speaking of stupidity, today’s Mopped Up Thorp is reading for your viewing pleasure. Or displeasure.

So the big surprise Library Board announcement happens tomorrow. I think Need coffee called it above, Gil talked Ed Asner into retiring and they’re taking both candidates. So tomorrow they announce that Zane gets the vacant spot, then P3 ends with a BUT….

And Friday we find out about Ed retiring and Burrito, who Gil talked into being less of an ass, also gets to be on the board.

The thing is, that still leaves Corina’s college unresolved. So on Saturday do we just see her talking to Mimi saying, “Okay, I’m going, thanks!” to wrap that up? Or do we need at least a few days with that stupidity, and we not getting lemonade on the porch with the Thorps on Monday after all?
