Are they using that religious excuse, that God wanted that baby to be born? Well, that means the rape isn’t actually a crime. After all, the rapist is only performing God’s will. You can’t convict a person of obeying God.
What if there is no pregnancy, you ask? Well the woman probably took a morning after pill, the evil witch who is defying God’s will
Is that a legal encouragement of rape and incest?? Yep, it sure is!!! Does it punish the victims? Yep, it sure does??? Well, alrighty then…it must be a dirty old white man law promoted by the dirty old white man’s party of oppression. … The G rand Q anon P u$$ygrabbers.
We had an imbecile (whose name I will not mention) running for the Senate from Missouri a few years back, who claimed that in cases of “legitimate” rape, a woman’s body “automatically shuts down to prevent pregnancy.” He ended up losing the election, but then came the Seditionist Senator who beat the woman who beat him. Ya just can’t satirize a parody!
The myth that only religious zealots can defend their stance for being pro-life is false. In Canada, there are no regulations for abortion at all. If we can agree that all humans have the right to live, then that is a starting point for the argument. Babies that are born prematurely are still considered human, otherwise, we would be able to kill them without being reprimanded. So if prematurely born babies are still human, that means that babies, past a certain point, are human even if they are still in the womb.
Your body, your choice. If there is a moral judge at the end of our existence, then let that entity do the judging. In the mean time, stop inflicting your religious views on the rest of us. Separate the church from the state and keep your morals to yourself. Come to think of it, I don’t see too many morals and ethics on display amongst most of the ‘religious’ whose primary concern is getting themselves through the pearly gates.
Moneyed interests dividing the nation. A fine case of the poor hunting the poor, so the wealthy can sleep at their ease (paraphrase from Robert Burns if memory serves)
Imagine that you have an invisible, superhero BFF who will grant you eternal life if you praise him constantly and avoid sex with goats. Then imagine you claim to know his mind. And THEN imagine YOU are here on earth to see to it that an omnipotent being’s wishes are carried out – even though he IS omnipotent, thank you very much.
Having an abortion after surviving a rape is similar to burning your house down after getting forcibly burglarized and despising everything the burglar didn’t steal. I suppose fire departments wouldn’t approve of burning your house down but some people would.

If they are not allowed to procreate, we might have fewer of them in the future – wouldn’t that be so sad?

“If men could get pregnant abortion would be a sacrament.”—Somebody tell me who said it.

But once they’re born, they’re your problem and conservatives are against any form of government help…

I grew up in Oklahoma, which is right next to Arkansas, and I can report with some certainty, “no, it would NOT be hard to sell!”
It would simply be a down-to-earth description of the majority of the “menfolk” that reside in that state – why else would they approve such a bill?

Not in Arkansas. They would consider that name to be a plus.

In Arkansas (as in most other Southern States) if your parents get a divorce, they are still legally brother and sister!

If every man in America got a vasectomy we wouldn’t need abortion laws. Problem solved.
