P1 I dunno, if I were Muench I’d want to do both if the opportunity presented itself and would give full effort without a thought of being injured, besides that always happens to the other guy anyway
P2 Effort? Effort? You are talking about effort GilPa? Do you know how to spell the word or know what it means? HAA HAA HAA HAA HAA HAA HAA, you’re killing me
P3 Hmmmm other than emphasizing syllables in their names, the only player on the girls team with a nick from Vic appears to be Tessie Tease, I’m feeling a discrimination lawsuit coming Vic’s way
Vito from Goshen is getting very, very concerned about this influential Vic kid. He’s turning Doug from the dark side, and now he’s ruining the easy money on the girls’ games. There’s going to be a big meeting at The Diner to make some decisions. Thorp has to wake up and stop this.
Gil’s hand breaking out of the panel… During 3D craze in the 1950s ME comic books couldn’t print the real 3D comics, so they encouraged artists to violate panel boundaries.
One of Gil’s superiors must have had a talk with him. He seems engaged, chewing out players and offering encouragement. He even shows up for practice. Wait. Gil doesn’t have superiors. What’s his motivation? Is Holly Dobbs in town to film the autobiography of GilPa?
Tomorrow, CK roughs up Vic in the hallway, throws up against a locker and tells him “..hey kid…it’s ‘Ramirez’….not ‘Raaa -MEER-rez’ ….OK?…” and a budding romance ensues
P1 – I. Do. Not. Get. It. This logic worked? Or lack of logic? Doug is worried about getting injured playing basketball and having it affect his racing. So Vic wants him to consider if Tom would rather run around the gym or drive a race car really fast. AND THAT MOTIVATED DOUG TO GO ALL OUT AT BASKETBALL? WHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT??
P2 – Ah, a clever way to avoid the hair changing problem. Have Doug be the feature, but don’t actually show him, or if you do, have him be in the shadows (P1). Brilliant!
P3 – #2 is thinking, “Oh man, how come our announcer doesn’t pronounce our names weird when we score? That would be so cool!”
And speaking of cool, what’s cool is that today’s Mopped Up Thorp is online,

In all reality , Vic never learned that it’s very disrespectful to purposely mispronounce someone’s name.

Day 87 of Moon Held Hostage. Perhaps a call from the Wildcat will be the ticket to get him freed from his own personal Elba.

P1, Um, Vic what the hell are you going on about?
P2, Gil hasn’t been seen in his namesake strip this often since the ’60s.
P3, Number 2 looks directly into the camera knowing full well this will be her one and only appearance in this strip.
