    Accountability is NOT crucifiction.

Impeachment, even with conviction, is only a small measure of accountability and justice.

    Especially for Treason.

All of Trump’s lawyers have left. He demanded that they argue that he really won the election, that there was massive fraud. Trump may have to represent himself if this continues….

    A bit of Roman history:

" … crucifixion was seen as an extremely shameful way to die, Rome tended not to crucify its own citizens. Instead, slaves, disgraced soldiers, Christians, foreigners, and — in particular — political activists often lost their lives in this way …"

" … The practice became especially popular in the Roman-occupied Holy Land. In 4 B.C., the Roman general Varus crucified 2,000 Jews, and there were mass crucifixions during the first century A.D., according to the Roman-Jewish historian Josephus. “Christ was crucified on the pretext that he instigated rebellion against Rome, on a par with zealots and other political activists,” the authors wrote in the report. …"

Trump is not a martyr and the Ariail’s implication that even Biden thinks he is is a grotesque twisting of reality. Trump is like the psychopathic child who kills his parents and then throws himself on the mercy of the court with the claim that he’s an orphan. At some point, intelligent, educated, experienced, rational patriots will need to stand up to the lunatics, e.g., Greene, and end their venal, mendacious, arrogant, vicious threats to our republic and our democracy. We have a duty to our posterity to point out that Greene, Trump, et al. are the political equivalent of rabid dogs menacing our cowering and cringing society. In medical terms, we must amputate and cauterize to save the body politic. These rabid political dogs must be put down legally, i.e, investigated, indicted, prosecuted, tried, found guilty by a jury of their peers, sentenced, and imprisoned, where they must rot for as many years as God affords them.

What are the Republicans doing to create unity? They could start by disavowing Trump permanently, voting to convict in the Senate, acknowledging that all that about the rigged and stolen election was a lie, and throwing Marjorie Taylor Greene out of Congress. In other words, they could help to create unity by recognizing reality. I’m not holding my breath.

The Democrats have always let the Republicans get away with the dubiously legal crap they pull when in office. This is possible because the Republicans cooperate by attempting to cover it up first. Once the Democrats are back in power, they have to try to accomplish something before they lose that power, and they have to try to get along with the Republicans who are still in congress in order to do that. And, the Democrats realize that showcasing governmental misconduct does not inspire confidence in our country, either from American voters or from the world as a whole.

Trump and his supporters are a whole different situation. First, there is nothing remotely dubious about whether their activities are illegal. Second, Trump not only didn’t attempt to cover them up, he announced them- on television, on tape. Of course, they probably are covering some things up, which is mind boggling, since what Trump brags about is beyond awful.

At any rate, the Democrats are put in the position of being unable to ignore the Republican’s illegal activities. If they do, they align themselves with the “go along to get along” crowd. That undermines any remaining confidence in our entire government, and creates a situation is much worse for our country than the results of letting those who are responsible for the mess we are currently in get what they deserve.

Accountability is in persecution. Trump, Giuliani, Jones, Fancelli, the seditious members of Congress, and everyone who enabled them deserves to be held accountable, in one way or another for attempting the overthrow of the government. This is not politics, it’s treason.

Oh, for crying out loud. LET TRUMP TESTIFY LIKE HE WANTS BEFORE “HIS SENATE” TRIAL ! The G.O.P. doesn’t want any testimony like last time. Any excuse then will be GONE and they will have to perform as REAL JURORS with the EVIDENCE. . . . . or continue to be the habitual liars for fear of losing TRUMP’S BASE.

It will be a great lesson in Democracy . . . . or Fascism. We’ll see as will the rest of the world.

Ariail has now joined the ranks of the seditionists that continue to support Trump regardless of his crimes of inciting insurrection and attempting to overturn an election. Kevin McCarthy, “Gym” Jordan, and several others need to be removed for their sedition. Several state-level GOP organizations are censuring anyone that dares stand up to Trump; the Repubs are truly traitors.

Here’s a thought – if the GOP REALLY wants “Unity” they should impeach Trump in the Senate with a vote of 100-0. Show the world that you are done with the bastard, and move on. Anything less means they are still in Trump’s thrall, and cannot be counted on for anything short of obstruction and sedition.
