Yes, Mikey. Attacking the nation’s capitol under false pretenses is immeasurably worse than a bit of collateral damage during mostly peaceful civil rights protests.

I see that the BS level in this section of the ‘toons is stinking VERY highly. Beyond lunacy. Not (quite) as disjointed as Payne’s offering. But wronger. (is “wronger” a word? My spell checquer thinks so)

One group was protesting injustice. The other group was attempting a violent insurrection based on lies from the Rump and his ignorant supporters. I hope Lester will figure out the difference.

I don’t think that Mikey “Lickspittle” Lester HAS EVER told, or drawn, the truth in his life.

First and foremost, Lester is a racist. He took great pride in portraying the first Black President of the United States as a pimp. It has been ranked as the most racist political cartoon in recent times.

Second, he is a mendacious right wing nut job. The pain he has gone to protect Trump and his crimes is almost admirable if it wasn’t so sickening.

Never during the protests, riots, and looting of the summer of 2020 was our Constitution and Republic threatened as it was on 1/6 and in its aftermath. The fact that National Guard troops have to protect the Capitol; there is talk of moving the inauguration indoors to protect the incoming President and VP; the fact that all State Capitols are threatened by armed protests and threats seem to mean nothing to Lester. But a burning Target Store is the end of the world.

If you can’t see the difference between protesting inequality and treason, you’re as ignorant as MontanaBill. What the trump cult did at the Capitol was treason.

Lester, you are a traitor, just like your dear leader.

Those of us who had relatives who fought Fascism in World War 2 must be confused and dismayed: If “Antifa” means “anti-fascism,” and Trump and his supporters claim to oppose Antifa — does that make them “Profa,” i.e., “pro-fascist”?

I can’t help to think that the old vets, were they still alive, would be disgusted, that in the end their fight seems to mean little or nothing many years later — to a U.S. president and so many in Congress, and (“How sharper than a serpent’s tooth …”) their descendants who ungratefully benefitted from their sacrifices.

Those who make it their professions to use words to inform the Public should be ashamed to swing words with intentionally bogus implications around like a mace in defense of their political views — politicians, lawyers, and media people (including editorial cartoonists).

I missed the part where ANTIFA (which isn’t an organization like Qanon or Proud Boys, or American Nazis, or the KKK, etc.) broke into one of the seats of American government (first time since 1812, BTW), equipped to apprehend duly elected Representatives and Senators. OR erect a gallows on the National Mall so they could hang them “4 × 4”.

It’s about time that Trump supporters and MAGA-nation stop resorting to whataboutism and start focusing on the actually things that are perpetrated in their name by people dressed just like them. Their crimes don’t justify yours and certainly don’t justify taking it to a higher extreme.

And, unless I miss my guess, the rioters you refer to were arrested, tried and punished for the crimes they committed. I saw it by watching the MSM.

Violence by either side is unacceptable. Opportunistic violence of the summer by individuals does not compare with the ORGANIZED violence targeting our constitutional processes. Which can be rebuilt more quickly a building whose windows are smashed or faith in the Constitution and our fellow citizens?

Hell, even Kevin McCarthy has labeled those attacking the Capitol as MAGA. Did Lester miss that memo? He has also missed that the FBI has warned that our major danger of terrorism is coming from the White Supremacy/alt-Right, not from the left or from outside the country. In fact, the FBI had warned of the violence they had expected from the MAGA-related groups on Jan. 6, but their warnings were not taken seriously.

Freedom and democracy are two of the most precious things that America has. Someone tried to steal and destroy that… and you are calling that equal to a few broken store windows and burnt out cars?

It is like comparing some thugs stealing a garden gnome from your front yard, and saying it is the same as other thugs coming into your house, taking over, keeping all your stuff and throwing you into the rainy night. Are you saying that you would be equally upset with both of those scenarios?

Well, Mike, the difference in mad dogs is obvious for anyone who’d take the time to get their fact straight. The Antifa dog was really quite tame, merely defending BLM and coming out against minority discrimination. And the police forces they faced were prepared for a riot or even were unmarked and picking up people on the street without doing a proper arrest. The MAGA dog broke down the barriers, often with police help, and ravaged the capitol building, threatening the people inside performing their business. The police that met them were few in number, not prepared for a riot, and, in some cases, apparently on this dog’s side.

Now, those MAGA dogs are being arrested, and the Antifa dogs are being sent home. This is justice.

Pathetic, Lester. Just pathetic.

It’s funny, with all of the rights talk of Antifa, no one can point to any real Anitfa involvement in the insurrection.

I cannot see the parallel here. I do not remember any civil rights protest aimed at overthrowing the republic’s institutions.

John Sullivan, a BLM activist, posing as MAGA on Jan 6, 2021, is arrested by FBI for his role in starting the riot. He was abetted by other anti-Trump terrorists and an NBC/NPR female journo taking videos of the riot that they started and the death of a genuine Trump supporter, Ashli Babbit. The depraved duo were very happy and content that “they did it!”, that they were able to go in the Capitol building by breaking a window with a helmet. They seem to be proud that someone died and went on CNN to show their footage of the dying 14 year USAF veteran. John Sullivan and his terrorist friends will surely be honored and cheered by democrats and depraved readers of this cartoon for doing a fine job of smearing president Trump and conservatives.
