The GOP should be happy that the two corrupt Covid Senators aren’t losing big in the polls. Both benefited from the pandemic, yet too many simply don’t vote their own interests.

Typical Ramirez! He’s unable to give a single example of the threats he imputes to the so-called radical left because there are none. Health care is not hazardous or menacing; a vibrant economy is not hazardous or menacing; a return to normalcy is not hazardous or menacing; the elimination of corporate greed is not hazardous or menacing; the exposure of political lies is not hazardous or menacing; opening the economy to one and all rather than to the 1% is not hazardous or menacing; structuring the tax laws so that everyone pays his/her fair share is not hazardous or menacing; letting EVERYONE’s vote count is not hazardous or menacing. The ONLY hazardous or menacing possibility on the horizon is government led by intelligence, education, experience, competence, and selflessness. The 1% are justifiably threatened and menaced by that, as well they should be. We are not serfs, we have no wish to be serfs, and we will oppose to whatever extent necessary and possible the imposition of serfdom, i.e., authoritarian despotism, on us and our posterity.

Dear, dear, what misreadings! Clearly the toon represents the “radical left” as what stands between our country and some overwhelming calamity, like maybe an out-of-control epidemic. Georgia is represented as an elephant to show that it has a good enough memory to remember that a state that fails to care for its people is by definition a failed state, and to remember just who positively wanted the disease just to “wash over us”; and so it stands heroically poised to assist in protecting us.

Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican

Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some radical leftist fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some radical leftist fought to ensure their safety and work as advertised. All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employer’s medical plan because some radical leftist union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some radical leftist fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; his bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some radical leftist fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging radical leftist fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some radical leftist fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some radical leftist union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some radical leftist didn’t think he should lose his home because of his temporary mis….

….his temporary misfortune. It’s noon time; Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some radical leftist wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid radical leftist decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dad’s; his car is among the safest in the world because some radical leftist fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electric until some big government radical leftist stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still be sitting in the dark)

….He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some radical leftist made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.He turns on a radio talk show, the hosts keeps saying that radical leftists are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn’t tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day) Joe agrees, “We don’t need those big government radical leftists ruining our lives; after all, I’m a self made man who believes everyone should take care of himself, just as I have.

Please grow up already, Mr. Ramirez, and stop trying to fan the flames of divisiveness. Mr. Biden has appointed more moderate candidates for his cabinet because he’s a moderate and knows any Senate will not approve Progressives. A Green New Deal, expanding Medicare, reinstating a voting rights act, other possible legislative targets will have appeal to Progressives and also those who care about the future of this nation. One doesn’t have to be a Progressive to want to see this nation healed and moving forward, not back to the 1700s.

I suppose you figure that having crooks in office is preferable. The two Reps used their office to illegally profit through insider trading.

Now you’re going to whine about “innocent until proven guilty.” No, they are guilty. The only time that applies is at the end of trial as the default judgment at the end of a trial.

For Payne and all other Trump Disciples, there is no center and no left, only the Radical Left, which is exactly the same as socialism, communism, fascism, and everyone who wears a mask.

They are deathly afraid of what they consider to be the most threatening of all Radial Left ideas: That it should be easy for people to vote, and all those votes should be counted.

Given the discrepancy between what Democratic politicians say they are actually for, and the whimpering and rending of garments on the part of the Publicans and their fellow-traveling sinners, the “radical left” per Ramirez is totally a figment of the Publican imagination.

And really, Mr Ramirez, would it be possible to conceive of a more disreputable pair of “saviors” than Loeffler and Perdue?? Seriously? Who on earth could look to those two as banner-bearers of a political party? Oh—wait. I forgot.

Seriously, Ramirez? You really think the ‘radical left’ is that much of a problem? The ‘radical left’ in US politics is a fringe element in a centre leftish party. No threat to your capitalist ideals at all. Or could it be that like other right supporters in the US, you confuse a social welfare covenant with Socialism? Of course you do.

As if American conservatives even knew what the “radical left” is. Their view has been skewed so long, they don’t know where the center is or where it’s supposed to be.

It’s no wonder the entire world has one view of where the right and left are, and America has a different view entirely.

For decades now, the Democrats have been moving to the right (toward the center) in hopes that the Republicans will move to the left (towards the center) to meet them. And every sing time the Republicans just take up the slack and move farther to the Right!

So these days, when certain presidents* send untrained private armies to attack US cities, there are plenty of morons who have been primed to think it’s no big deal and totally justified. But that only happens because they have no idea how far the right they’ve drifted.

But I expect that Ramirez either isn’t entirely clear on how dikes work, or expects his readership to be that kind of “iggorant”… or he’s decided that the sea and the dike are all one thing??
