Gotham City has pretty harsh winters… but Robin, for several decades, wore a costume with no covering for his legs.

Similar weather here in Kagoshima right now (getting a smattering of snow) and there were several women out walking around today in short skirts and no leggings. I didn’t complain.

I tend to always wear cargo shorts. Of course cold in Texas is not the same as cold in Michigan!

Below 40 is about my limit..

COLD human soup!

I wear shorts everyday in Colorado. The insulatory qualities of denim is practically zero, so jeans are equal to shorts.

Pools might not be human soup, but hot tubs? What else would you call it?

Matthew comes from a long line of UPS drivers.

Here in Maine you’ll see some guys wearing shorts all winter. I much prefer shorts over long pants (just more comfortable) but even I have my limits. (Not like Superman; I mean shorts INSTEAD of long pants….)

I knew a guy once. He was a delivery driver and always wore shorts all year round.

When I was in 5th grade, there was some noise about updating the dress code in our public school. In the morning announcements, the principal included, “And don’t even THINK you’ll be allowed to wear shorts.” That winter, during a winter storm my sister was sent home for coming into school in her “ski pants.” Of course, she had her dress on underneath and was going to leave her ski pants in the locker, but that did not matter, she had worn pants in school. Boys also had to wear a belt. One teacher would send me to the principal to get a rope if he saw me in the hall, but the principal agreed with me that overalls did not require a belt.

I’ve met people like Matthew MacManus. One of them was originally from Hawaii, and claimed the winter cold air of my native Idaho felt “refreshing” to him by comparison.

I thought he was crazy.

Peter Jackson has been pretty successful despite shunning long pants! Maybe Matthew is a budding film maker!

Son, the law student, wears shorts regardless of the weather. We probably shouldn’t have dropped him on his head so often.

He must be from Bahston.

Every so often, I see a guy (always males) going into a store in the Winter wearing shorts. And I think “Cool” (see what I did there?)

My sister had a dream with someone named ‘Jelly’ who was cursed to always wear shorts. I have no idea why.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, and my cousin was a real mountain man. Even in the worst of weather, he never wore more than a tank top and shorts. Accented with hiking boots, of course. But he went barefoot whenever he could.

Spud has a point here.

I have some cousins like that. I’ve never just asked though.

I used to know a guy who was in his 80s who wore SHORT shorts almost all year. That’s a sight you really didn’t want to see.

I worked with a guy that only wore birkenstocks regardless of weather. The closed toe style for office decorum, but just birks. I asked him why and he said, “I hated that my ex made me wear shoes”.

I think every school has there mathewe

I think about that sometimes but the opposite. I see people wearing sweatshirts and hoodies in scalding heat and I’m like “how are you fine with this?!”
