I’m reminded of the scene in the movie “The Presidio” where Mark Harmon’s character gets information using The Dead as a reference point and Sean Connery’s character doesn’t understand who they are…

ROCK and ROLL !

I went to a Dead concert once, and must have been the only person there who wasn’t stoned. Some idiot kept shouting for “Whitel Rabbit”. Good music though!

The only show I saw in Rochester was outdoors in a stadium, but the songs selection was lousy I think it was in the last days of Keith and Donna.

Never was a fan, but “Europe ’72” is a good representative collection.

Just one question – if the music’s so good, why aren’t the guys dancing?

In my early 20’s, I moved into a townhouse with a friend. The only thing we knew about our neighbors was that they were in their 40’s and had a couple children. We were bummed because we figured it’d be hard to have a good party with them around.

Turned out our neighbors were die-hard Dead fans. Whenever the Dead came to the Northeast, our neighbors would drive 10 hrs to Buffalo and attend every show through, MA, RI, and Connecticut. Sometimes they’d even drive to NJ. For their daughter’s 11th birthday, they took her to a show.

The funniest part was when they came to our parties, they’d leave their children at home and bring a bong. They didn’t want their children to know they toked.

We had a great time with them. Best neighbors ever!

There is no fandom anywhere as obsessive as Deadheads!

It just occurred to me that Mittens has no mittens.

How about some quotation marks around “The Dead”? I had a shocking reaction to the implied necrophilia.

Another day without Mr Martin’s “help.” Another good day.

Love the “Dead”. Always have. With Grateful Deadication. One concert, while stoned, the expression ’Grapefruit Dead" stuck in my mind and never left. Why? Dunno.
