Yesterday, I found myself behind a pickup flying two “blue line” perversions of the Star Spangled Banner, with a big “Ore-GUN-ian” in the window and two stickers invoking (carnal act) (our liberal, realistic, mask-wearing governor). And a ’Don’t follow me, you can’t keep up" bumper sticker.

I didn’t say it to myself with this jogger’s words, but it’s the same feeling.

That day is coming. Happy November 4th, everyone!

November 11 would be a good day to fly it.

It all depends on the outcome of your election. Another 4 years of the Rump and his gang of thugs will damage your image for decades to come.

Maybe we’ll even have a president who doesn’t try to hump the flag.

The President likes to see the flags flying on his supporters trucks, loves to use them as props during his rallies, but not seen on the caskets of our military as they are returned home. What kind of a Commander-in-Chief is that ? Who would vote to re-elect that type of traitor who calls our veterans and active military “Losers” ? Asking for a Vietnam Era Vet . . me.

That great flag is now the source material for some really ugly signs, masks, and clothing. Can never tell whether the wearers intend to honor the flag, use it as an excuse to denigrate the beliefs of others, or treat it as something less. Having been proud to salute it for about 8 decades, I now find it difficult to accept its current uses.

I will NEVER be ashamed to fly the American flag.

My flag will go up as soon as Joe Biden’s arm comes down on Inauguration Day.

I just read that Trump has declared today a day of remembrance for all those who were killed by illegal aliens.

This from a president who did not want to remember the losers and suckers who died for America in WW I and was too busy with “important phone calls” on Veteran’s Day to go to Arlington Cemetery.

What about a day of remembrance for the hundreds of thousands of people Trump killed with his “exceptional leadership” (Pence’s words) during the pandemic? He’s still killing people by the thousands every day.

No illegal alien, not even every illegal alien combined who have made it into America in the past century have done as much damage to this country as one REPUBLICAN Donald Covid Trump has in less than 4 years.

It won’t change much, I am afraid. They love their uniforms and guns too much.

Just wish all good “patriotic” Americans who stick a flag out on their porch and then leave it out for years even when it is dirty and tattered would realize they are suppose to take it in after dark and in the rain.

I had to take the flag off my hat in 2001 after 9/11, with all the hysteria. Have never displayed it in any way since then.

After trump humped that flag.. it will take some time to remove the stain.

There shoulda been a cartoon depicting a kid with a MAGA hat, a toy AR15, and a huge flag at the door for trick or treat, and the person answering the door asking "What are YOU supposed to be . . . a patriot?

At least the Trump hearse is appropriate given the 200K+ Americans who have died due to his incompetence.

“Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel” (Samuel Johnson, April 14, 1775) meaning that any crime and any misbehavior was tolerated as long as it was committed by one who kept shouting that he loved his country. I will respect the Republican Party again when they start embodying what the flag represents and stop using it to hide their racist, misogynist, xenophobic, theocratic authoritarian ambitions while calling themselves “moral.”

In Oregon that pickup would have a rifle in the rear window.

The jerks who are tearing down the Constitution, combating Civil Rights, and trying to behave as if we should be a fascist monarchy are a very loud minority in the U.S. Don’t avoid the flag because they wrap themselves in it. The majority of the nation, the people who want to preserve our Constitutional law and the safety of each of our citizens have EARNED the right to display the flag. It is no less ours because of those destructive people wanting to reshape the U.S. as well as one of the major political parties, into their reactionary image. It is time to remind ourselves and others of the truth of most in the nation rather than letting the jerks displace what is ours.

My rear truck window standard usa flag, road bicycle sticker, E Pluribus Unum, a Naruro sticker, U S army vet sticker, US signal corp sticker, Science does not care what you believe. a sticker for a localish art store I like to go to, a shimano sticker. I want to fine sticker that says something like it’s E Pluribus Unum NOT in god we trust.

I’m really sorry you feel this way, Jeff. Personally, no matter what is going on in my country, I’ve never been ashamed to fly the flag. I’m ashamed of the way many people—mostly left and right extremists—are acting nowadays, but not the USA in general.

I put small American flags on either side of my Biden yard sign. And I made a VOTE sign flanked by two small American flags.

At the moment, my wife’s Kia Soul is parked behind my F150 in our narrow driveway. Not only do I cringe at words like ‘patriot’ and ‘Christian’, I’m embarrassed to drive the truck for now.

It is not their flag.They use it to try and intimidate those of us who truly love our country.They need to realize that the president is not the country and that they are a minority, true patriotic Americans do not pervert the words of the Constitution, or the Declaration of Independence, or support a cult leader, con man, racist bigot.

When Nazis and fascists make me keep my flags in the cupboard so people don’t think my pasty old white butt is one of those treasonous swine, there is an awful lot wrong with my country. And while the MAGAts may have a lot of guns, other people are also armed. I prefer edged weapons myself…..

I recently watched a documentary on Nazis in America.

The scene was the 1930’s at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The hall was dominated by a large painting of George Washington (the event was held on his birthday) and people came in carrying the Stars and Stripes and Swastika side by side. The claimed to be Patriots (like Trump called the people who stopped the bus in Texas) and were preserving “Western Civilization” (a key phrase for the white race).

Whenever I see an American flag and Trump flag side by side, I think of this scene.
