It’s really too bad that Covid-19 isn’t just a smidge MORE deadly… so that the idiots are that smidge more likely to kill themselves as well as their (idiotic) friends and family.

Thanks for trying Mike but with the number of dead people climbing faster and faster every day from this virus their not listening to the commonsense of educated scientist they would rather follow the word of the greatest ignorant circus clown and con man that ever lived, that was made president against the majority of the American voters by a backward antiquated law, the electoral college and the Republicans. This administration has set this country progress back at least 60 years.

I’ve got a beef with them; they think masks are a lot of bull, but they’re wrong—there’s just too much at steak! It’s no fun to die from something you could have prevented!!!

The New Supreme Court will declare that masks interfere with freedom of speech. FSM knows, with such limited vocabularies Maga’s need no interference.

report from UK said that after 3 month, persons who had covid19 have already lost 26% of their antibodies. (Study on news 10/27/2020) And am I the only person bothered by the dehumanizing of people by calling them a Herd = next thing we know our “glorious leaders” will be culling the herd (intentionally not just by blind covid luck).

How well has herd immunity worked on COVID related viruses like the common cold? Oh THAT’S why they still call it the “common” cold. Got it (you will too).

Because herd immunity worked so well for the North/South American Indians and measles/small pox, Europeans and the Black Death….

‘Perfect metaphor for his presidency’: Trump shamed for leaving elderly MAGA fans to freeze in Omaha

    .

Trump had buses to take them to his rally, but no buses to take them back. That is the republican plan in a nutshell.

Twice as many people wear masks in Washington state than they do in Idaho. The governor of Washington is begging the governor of Idaho to impose a mask mandate. Idaho hospitals are over 90% full and are thinking of sending patients to Washington hospitals. Another proof that masks help to slow the spread. Idaho had a mask mandate until some cry babies whined about it. Yes, I live in Idaho and I wear a mask.

This is a perfect use for face recognition technology. The mask-less invaders of public spaces would be deemed unsuitable for employment and have to get medical treatment from other non mask wearers!

Unfortunately they can also infect mask wearers if there are enough of them.

I know this is a takeoff on the Chik-fil-A commercials, but it also reminds me of one of Bill Cosby’s greatest comedy routines, about hoof-and-mouth disease: https://youtu.be/Wjy7ptWE0N8

Let’s just have separate hospitals for Republicans. I’d like to see Scott Atlas advocating herd immunity while staffing a COVID unit.

JAMA had a really great article recently:

    AMA Insights

    October 19, 2020

Herd Immunity and Implications for SARS-CoV-2 Control

which went into how many people (in the hundreds of thousands just in the U.S.) would have to die to reach herd immunity the hard (non-vaccine) way, explains what herd immunity is since a high percentage of the people who invoke the term use it incorrectly, and more. It’s an excellent piece.

Promed of the ISID also had a summary in the second topic at

    https://promedmail.org/promed-post/?id=7889160

BTW, for the curious: herd immunity means having enough individuals in a given population who have substantial resistance or immunity at any given time that the vulnerable people in the population are reasonably protected from infection transmission. I have been seeing people use it incorrectly for years but did not figure til the past January that I would ever find myself repeatedly explaining it in relation to a pandemic worse than the measles problem (which itself has killed or handicapped a number of unvaccinated people).
