Currently 218 judges and justices of 870 confirmed for #45; approximately 25%; could be more if he gets 4 more years. VOTE on 11/3.

Ah … Newt Gingrich. An early pioneer in undermining democratic norms. The first House Speaker to be disciplined for an ethics violation. At least had the honesty to resign. Things have gone downhill since in the Taliban Party.

Have to get the money out of politics and need to put in ethics rules and term limits for the judges in the courts

I’d like to see the “originalists” say “six judges was enough for George Washington, so let’s get rid of the last two, ignore the vacancy and call it done.”

I suppose the trouble with freedom is that when people have it they don’t obey the rules. How can we expect freedom to thrive if people don’t obey the rules.

Newt, the hypocrite that gave us Guns, God, Gays and Abortion as the basis for conservatism, yet is wrong on all four. Conservatives used to stand for law and public safety, following the constitution and keeping god and government separate, keeping government out of our personal lives regardless of what we think of someone else’s choices and protecting everyone’s right to make their own life choices without government interference. Rights are funny things, they come with responsibilities, and consequences.

Junk food eating and becoming obese or worse is the new smoking. As it should be since the current generations are projected to die earlier than the Greatest Generation.

Oh, great, more of the giant talking ambulatory hallucination. Oh well. As I’m fairly certain I mentioned yesterday, no one can like ALL of the characters.

I see that in Panel 1, Mr. Butts is reading “The Daily Blah.” I wonder if any of the established reporter characters worked there or, for that matter, if it was a recurring detail before and/or since this strip.

So – nothing new then. Faces change, names change, people stay the same.

The last time I looked, cigarets were being taxed out of existence. And smoking has been banned even in private apartments.
