I want to know how much the king paid for the cat. Cause Dick might be Lord Mayor of London, but now he has a bad rodent problem, and possibly a plague problem.

Old Yeller the Cat would have ended badly. A rabid rat, perhaps?

Ludwig looks daunted at the thought of having to work so hard for his keep.

He loses the cat, so it’s not exactly ‘happy’

Why does the mouse look like Jerry from Tom & Jerry?

Maybe it does give Luddie a sense of worth, albeit a false sense.

For the record, Dick Whittington was real but the cat story is fiction. Whittington (really Lord Mayor of London) wasn’t even born poor.

All I know is you dont own a cat. The cat owns you. Cats moto whats mine is mine, whats yours is now mine. And if I fits, I sits anywhere.
