White flags work only if the opponent wants to talk, or wants to accept your surrender. I see the point, but it should be the international distress flag, imo.
The ☠resident is now shorting the needs (H1B worker) of high tech business as he did medical supplies and PPE for people who might get the Covid-19 disease?
I’m usually a big fan of Mike Luckovich, but I’m not crazy about this one. I’ve seen to much courage displayed by individuals from all walks of life trying to fight this pandemic. The front-line medical personnel, the first-responders, the people employed in essential stores, and even by a lot of the public who do mask and do try to social distance, even in the face of open hostility to their actions. They haven’t given up. And I haven’t given up. Had it been the president waving the white flag, which is what he’s doing in effect by his constant denial of the pandemic, I would have liked this cartoon. But since Lady Liberty represents the American People and the American Ideals, I must respectfully disagree with Mr. Luckovich on this one.
Conservative pundit Michael Gerson: “In addition to being a poorly attended political flop featuring a defensive, bigoted, and barely coherent harangue, President Donald Trump’s recent campaign rally in Tulsa was a declaration of surrender to COVID-19. It is not possible to maintain that the United States is in a public health crisis while inviting thousands of people to yell spittle-flinging approval in an enclosed space. [note from Godfreydaniel: Not to mention all that foam from all those cases of rabies!] […]This means that Trump was willing to put his audience and their community [note from Godfreydaniel: And EVERY place the out-of-towners came from] at risk of infection and death. And for what? To bask in adulation? To restart his faltering campaign? Any excuse is ridiculously reckless. [note from me: Any excuse is CONTEMPTIBLE.] […] On public health, Trump is not acting like a pro-life president. […] His morality does not even rise to the level of utilitarianism. He seeks the greatest good for one person, and one person alone.”

Trump’s not surrendering, or even acknowledging the situation. He’s got his own bunker and a number of people he can use for shields.

The quarantine flag is solid yellow . . .
Oddly enough, it’s the Trump family flag as well.
