A passionate speech but it is doubtful that doing the same things that have been done ineffectively for decades will magically start giving better outcomes.
Sorry, I cringe every time I hear Scott seem to parrot the standard Republican line. Is that inner desperation and despair I see in his eyes? So far, he is treated politely by most all the media, but how long will that last?

Lets review, Republicans have taken away welfare, food stamps, medical for the uninsured, and lost 45 million jobs and are working on taking away Social Security.
Mitch McConnell’s state rates the lowest on every metric.
Voting for a Republican is virtual suicide, look at all the right wing lemmings in denial about covid converging on Tulsa without a mask even.
Did you see the president of the United States threatened anyone who protested his racist hate fest on the ashes of Black Wall Street?
Any protesters, anarchists, agitators, looters or lowlifes who are going to Oklahoma please understand, you will not be treated like you have been in New York, Seattle, or Minneapolis. It will be a much different scene!

Republicans are making themselves into the most disgusting people they can be.
Senator Scott was given an impossible task: create a plan that would mean something to black people and mean nothing to Republicans. I feel sorry for him.
To be fair, his plan has lots in it that Republicans would have never considered before now. Although it’s extreme for a Republican, though, it’s still not enough to make a difference. For instance, the idea of “suggesting” against chokeholds and providing financial incentives to improve behavior sound good on paper, but of course the carrot-and-stick approach depends a lot on who is holding the carrot and who is holding the stick.

I feel sorry for the guy. I don’t think he was counting on joining the trumplican Party when he was appointed to the seat.
He probably thought he’d get respect as a Senator, but his recent comments indicate he’s still treated like every other black man.
