What about the call for defunding bad police.

You have accomplished much, but this is a marathon, not a sprint. There are more than a thousand police departments, and each of them is semi-autonomous. The push back will be incredible. Yet, several states have already passed legislation to ban choke holds, to ban no-knock raids, and to get rid of laws hiding the records of cop’s misconduct reports. That’s not where we need to be by a long shot, but it’s not nothing

This will not be a “one and done.” We’ve made that mistake already. We got the Civil Rights Act passed and for a couple of decades things carried on under their own momentum and things did get better seemingly “on their own.”

Then we got complacent. We stopped short of total victory and left some foes unfought and some enemy sanctuaries still unchallenged. We declared victory (“mission accomplished”) and went home. And as we relaxed our vigilance, Sauron crawled back into Mordor and now sits in Trump Tower (the DC version).

This time when we win – and we will win – we need to keep our guard up and not let evil get a foothold again in society.

Well, the cops that ARE killing people are being arrested and charged with murder.

That seems to a positive step forward – since before now the murderous cops were “put on administrative leave” (given a paid vacation at home) while the event was “investigated” by Internal Affairs, which did it’s best to cover everything up, and then the cops were allowed back to work with no penalties once the fuss died down.

Nothing beats the “cosmetic” approach.

A black woman in the UK, an ex-MP, I believe, tweeted this at KelloggsUK.

“Coco Pops and Rice Krispies have the same compòsition (except for the fact CP’s are brown and chocolate flavoured)… so I was wondering why Rice Krispies have three white boys representing the brand and Coco Pops have a monkey?”

Well, lady, I’ll tell you why. It’s because Kellogg’s is racist and always has been (Kellogg’s doesn’t begin with a “K” for nuthin!). Everyone knows elves come in many colors and ethnicities and originated in Africa, yet they chose to make Snap, Crackle and Pop 3 pasty white little dudes. And even though cocoa comes from the tropics where there are jungles in which monkeys might live and Coco Pops are a kid’s cereal and kids love cute little monkeys, what they always intended was to make sure they conveyed the subliminal message that black people are all partially evolved descendants of monkeys. They really should just add the other 2 K’s to their name and stop pretending they’re fooling anyone.

Congratulations…You and some American twit names Rick Wilson who found an 8 year old tweet from Domino’s Pizza thanking a customer for their kind words which happened to be 24-year-old Kayleigh McEnany (who would later become White House Press Secretary for the Trump Administration) and thus proclaimed to Domino’s that because of this “You just killed your brand”, are co-winners of this month’s Political Correctness Run Amok Award, which is respectively, a one-year supply of Rice Krispies and a $500 gift card to Domino’s. Enjoy!

America has a long, long way to go in living up to its CONSTITUTIONAL IDEAL of ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL in the eyes of the law.

This is a watershed moment in our history. It is a moment for each of us to explore our souls and our moral character. Will we go forward as one, or a house divided.

BLM has been active since the Obama Admin. Nothing changed cause the people in actual control of dictating priorities with policy and legislation don’t want anything to change. And no, it’s not just the Republicans.

You have gotten the whole public’s attention on this issue… for better or for worse…

If America stays in a state of civil unrest through this long hot summer. I’m certain Biden will sweep into the Whitehouse the senate will turn dark blue and the house will become a solid dem block led by Ms. Nancy. Middle America is ready to feed cake to Republicans. Can Necklacing be far behind ? Let the government stand down and we will settle this once and for all.

You’ve managed to shut down multiple major cities on several cities, caused hundreds of millions in property damage, injured hundreds and even have a few murders thrown in for good measure.

And, poisoned your own well.

Most of the nation has embraced the need to change how police handle physical countertenors with suspects. The murder of George Floyd absolutely convinced us the reform is required. But if you continue to cause damage and harm your own voice is overwhlemed by the screaming and the sirens and the stench of burning cars and buildings.

Stahler’s being an ass. What has happened? Several cops have been arrested for murder who would, last year, have been walking free. What has happened? Several police departments now have black chiefs who had white ones a few weeks ago. What has happened? Many localities and states have made it illegal for cops to use “choke holds”. What has happened? Tens of thousands of white people have finally started to understand why Black Lives Matter is both valid and important.

And finally: What has happened? We the people have had the power of video-witness graphically and repeatedly proved. Do us all a service: Go thou and document cop behavior!

Thanks for pointing this out Jeff; it does seem like a lot of effort for so little reward. Then again, baby steps; the powers that be move at a snail’s pace.

Corporations, companies, sports leagues, networks, churches, councils, politicians, individuals, these gestures of good faith are cool and all….

But we need your support getting the laws, culture, history books and mindsets changed.
