It’s not twitters fault that Trump lies. But Trump wants to force them to support his BS. If he would only take some accountability, or if fools like Lisa would only hold him accountable. Hey Lisa - what about the lie that Trump made to start this?

Twitter did NOT censor Trump. His posts remained visible, but so did a response from Twitter moderation on the factual basis of those posts. Lisa is being completely dishonest in this cartoon, but it’s right in line with the RW cult of victimhood (and they call liberals snowflakes?).

Yes, it is a form of censorship. Perhaps the illustration might be more accurate if all the red birds remained with an ‘X’ over each red bird, but the message is still the same—twitter is telling you which messages meet their approval. How would you like it if every post you made on this site had a “fact check” stating your claims were not valid?

Free speech does not include to right to lie and misrepresent. There are actually laws to deal with those situations.

Categories of speech that are given lesser or no protection by the First Amendment (and therefore may be restricted) include obscenity, fraud, child pornography, speech integral to illegal conduct, speech that incites imminent lawless action, speech that violates intellectual property law, true threats, and commercial speech such as advertising.

Along with communicative restrictions, less protection is afforded for uninhibited speech when the government acts as subsidizer or speaker, is an employer, controls education, or regulates the mail, airwaves, legal bar, military, prisons, and immigration.

I see Lisa’s lost her grip on reality again… providing a link to FACT CHECK a statement is NOT prohibiting someone from MAKING those statements, but it is merely providing an opportunity for people to check the veracity of the statements.

In other words, Hair Furor wants to be able to LIE LIKE A CHEAP RUG, but he does NOT want anyone to be able to check and see HOW BADLY HE IS LYING!

There’s plenty of Progressive speech being censored on YouTube. Conservative speech being censored when it’s full of racism, bigotry, prejudice, intentional disinformation, and conspiracy theories is a good thing. However, it’s so overwhelming widespread, one wouldn’t know they’re getting censored.

Trump hates regulations of any type, and social media must be regulated to stop bias. Trump supporters must suffer a continual case of whiplash.

Here, let’s go back to basics: If it glorifies Trump, it’s a very, very incredible, great job, regardless whether it’s true or not. If it makes Trump look bad, whether it’s true or not, it’s nasty lying fake news. It’s as simple as the person who made this rule up.

More Lisa propaganda. There is a difference between free speech and putting out blatant lies. marking them as lies is not censorship, Trump’s Twitter account should have been banned years ago for violating the terms of agreement. Anyone else would have.

Trump’s Looting Tweet Violates His Oath of Office

The president is supposed to protect and defend the nation’s supreme laws.

    Shooting looters is unconstitutional.

Trump threatened to unleash American carnage on looters. “These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen,” he declared in a second tweet. “Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts.”

    https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/05/trump-urges-shooting-looters-s-unconstitutional/612322/

    .

The president is supposed to bring the country together, not encourage a race war.

Trump and his toadies have no idea what “free speech” is all about. It’s a concept that relates to government censoring speech of individuals and has nothing to do with private-sector entities. Government has not infringed on Trump’s speech of tirades, insults or put downs

And government can limit speech in areas where government has constitutional power to legislate. An example is the outlawing of commercial speech involving false advertising, bait-and-switch tactics and fraud; all involve speech. Every word entered as testimony in a trial, either criminal or civil, is subject to oversight by a government agent; the judge.

Americans are too eager to hurl criticism of constitutional issues they don’t understand and Donald Trump may be the worst of the lot.

Censorship can only be performed by a government. Any discretionary action by private entities is just that: discretion. The difference is one will say “You cannot say that” while the other will only say “You cannot say that here”

Pointing out that someone is a liar is NOT censorship. The punk-in-the-oval-office is admitting to the world that unless he can lie without interference, he has Nothing to say. And Ms. Benson seems to be admitting that is her unfortunate lot in life as well. News flash, Lisa… the old saying ‘The Truth Will Out’ came to be for a reason.

Truth, democracy, compassion, and the like, are the natural enemies of the right. I am genuinely and deeply concerned about my country right now – it is hard to express how worried I am about America today – and I was a young adult in the 60s. The difference then was a sense of hope, and the presence of leaders.

He’s not my Republican president and it ain’t my Republican Party anymore…Won’t vote for any of ‘em ever again. The Loony Right has the Free Speech to say that Sandy Hook was a Hoax AND that the Parents of Children shot into pieces by RIGHT WING GUN nut should be killed as well, as long as you say should be instead if I will do it.

Like Trump’s Second Amendment people can cure our Hillary problem AFTER SHE GETS ELECTED.

But Twitter has no right to say…. Um you should look up the fact yourself.
