    Last responders?

Senators are only “last responders” in their response to the COVID-19 (covfefe-45 novel Trump virus) pandemic, when it comes to the needs of American workers and consumers of the middle class and those in need.

When it comes to taking care of themselves and their bazillionaire cronies, they are aggressive, response, and move quickly and nimbly — ready to move quickly.

They passed a THREE TRILLION dollar bailout bill, in which 90% of the benefit went to very wealthy corporations and individuals who were (or should have been) best prepared to ride out the economic storm. In a nation of 300 MILLION, three trillion is $10,000 for every man, woman and child. So every other American, per capita, incurred a debt share of $10,000 and in return got a measly $1,200 in return.

As soon as Republican Intelligence Chair Richard Burr was briefed on the seriousness of the pandemic he acted immediately — to sell stocks in companies that could be negatively impacted and buy stocks in companies that might see their products increase in demand, and have his brother-in-law do the same.

Senator Kelly Loeffler of Georgia is also particularly insidious. This brand new senator, can hardly blame naïveté. Before being recently appointed senator, she was the CEO of a financial services company and she is currently married to Jeffrey Sprecher, the CHAIRMAN OF THE NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE.

Insider trading is a felony and all involved should be prosecuted. Just ask Republican Chris Collins of New York, who is currently serving his term after being convicted last year of very similar actions.

It’s not just in the US Congress. Here in Wisconsin Gov. Evers (D) pointed out in early March that state law required an election on the first Tuesday in April, and as long as that law was on the books he was legally obligated to try to implement it. He pointed out that the Legislature had the authority to change the law, and would they please do so under the circumstances. He kept making this point with increasing urgency as the month toddled along, and the GOP-controlled Legislature blithely ignored him at every opportunity, even as public-opinion polls showed massive support for postponing the election, as FIFTEEN OTHER STATES had already done.

Finally, in desperation, Gov. Evers tried to avert a public-health disaster by issuing an executive order the Friday before the election to mitigate the worst consequences of voting in person. He may have been banking on the Republicans in the Legislature being too slow on the uptake to prevent it. But, within hours, they had appealed his order to their pet state Supreme Court, which took even less time to invalidate the emergency orders. A separate lawsuit went all the way to the US Supreme Court, which also acted with alacrity to rule in favor of the GOP’s “take your life in your hands if you want to vote” position.

So yeah, they can move fast if they really want to — and they only really want to if it means they can throw yet another roadblock in the path of the democratic process. Because, as YouKnowWho accurately observed, “When too many people vote, we lose.”

Donald Trump can only rape America because his Senate gang lets him do that. They are the REAL cause of the American peoples’ suffering.

If we can take control of the Senate, it wouldn’t be hard to turn up their other assorted crimes and get them ejected from the Senate.

THEN we can prosecute them for their crimes and get them sent to Lompoc. NOT the club fed Lompoc. The Federal Correction Institute where they do hard time… the one where thy could get shanked or traded around for smokes.

Let’s see… Send stimulus funds to corporations laying off workers? Check. Fund drug companies by FDA fast tracking drugs without full testing? Check. Push test results and merge different types of tests with different suppliers and different false negative results? Check. Ship out smaller quantities than needed (but mostly to blue states) and faulty PPE (ditto)? Check. Add trillions to deficit but make little of it go to citizens needing relief? Check. And so on. Yep, mouths writing checks that their butts can’t cash. This ought to be revolting. In more ways and meanings than one. Enough, America! Time to vote ‘em all out and no more TV reality show “celebrities,” movie stars, or corporate shills! How many decades and y’all ain’t learned that yet?

Pelosi Statement on GOP Senate Subpoenas Targeting Biden Family

    MAY 20, 2020 PRESS RELEASE

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the Senate Homeland Security Committee voted on partisan lines to authorize a subpoena as part of the GOP-led investigation targeting former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter:

“Nearly 100,000 Americans have died from coronavirus, yet the GOP Senate is wasting precious time and taxpayer dollars smearing the President’s political rivals, while telling hungry families and laid-off workers to just ‘take a pause.’

“Last week, the House passed The Heroes Act: honoring our heroic frontline workers with robust funding for state, local, tribal and territorial entities; funding a science-based path to safely opening the economy with testing, tracing, treatment and isolation; and putting more money in the pockets of workers. Leader McConnell and the Senate GOP need to come to the negotiating table to help deliver the relief that families desperately need.

“Instead, these Republican subpoenas are a clear act of retaliation and political retribution intended to help the President keep his job. It is sad that the GOP Senate has meekly and weakly chosen to be complicit in the President’s desperate and dangerous political tactics instead of passing legislation to save lives and livelihoods.

“I call upon Leader McConnell to ‘take a pause’ in the Senate GOP’s obstruction of meeting the needs of the American people.”

Pelosi suggests Trump is to blame for the deaths of 50,000 Americans

Speaking to the press in her weekly briefing, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blamed President Donald Trump’s slow response for the deaths of 50,000 Americans, without even saying his name.

She cited a Columbia report which recently revealed that if the president had shut down the United States just a week earlier, half of the people in the United States could have been saved.

“Did you see the Columbia report that came out?” Pelosi asked the reporters. “That if one week sooner, one week sooner, we had had a lockdown as other countries did. Korea and the United States had — I don’t know if it’s the first case or the first death — the same day. They locked down. They’ve lost over 300 people. Just over 300 people. We waited a couple of weeks. The report further says if we had done it when Korea did, we would have saved over 50,000 lives. But just one week was well into the over 30,000 people who would not have died.”

One week would have saved 36,000 people, the report said.

“So, we really just have to be smart and strategic and that is what our bill does,” Pelosi continued. “Testing, tracing, treatment, isolation. It’s smart. It’s strategic. It has a vision. It has a goal and a time table. It has milestones. It has thresholds. A plan. A strategic plan to quantify what this is and to be able to trace and treat so that we can defeat this virus.”

When Trump was asked about the study, he denied it was accurate, instead calling it “fake news” and attacking CBS reporter Weija Jiang. The White House later reconsidered the message, and blamed China and the WHO instead.
