    The mice I don’t mind, particularly if they catch ones that are already in the house. That would be their job, if they had one. What bothers me is when they kill birds. And they can’t understand why you won’t let them bring them inside.

    A friend had stories about a free range cat she fed. Once in awhile the cat would pay her back by leaving a dead mouse on her doorstep.

    In Wright Angles (called Motley Classics on gocomics.com), a Mother’s Day strip had Motley the cat giving Mrs. Wright a gift-wrapped(?) Mother’s Day present; but when Mrs. Wright opened it, a couple of mice came out, scaring her; she put Motley in the basement at the end of the story; on gocomics.com it’s at May 10, 2015.

    Coincidentally, it just occurred to me today: one tiny silver lining in the current horror show is that I can now eat sardines for lunch (I’d never bring them to the office) and no one will complain.
