It’s kind of hard to believe that Rall isn’t working for the GOP, isn’t it. Has half the hallmarks: Trying to divide the Democrats, trying to make the (very) probable candidate look worse than he is, and doing something that’s aimed at making the more liberal voters stay away from the polls.
Will Biden only listen to Fox spews? Will he expect praise to be constantly rained down on himself? Will he lie thousands of times a year? Will he use his powers to line his and his family’s pocket books? Will he fire anyone who disagrees with him? WILL HE LOCK CHILDREN IN CAGES?
It would be great if we lived in a reality where we had to worry about the shortcomings of any Democratic candidate. Unfortunately, any Democratic candidate, not matter how bad they may be, is still WORLDS BETTER than Il Douche.
Do I want Biden as the Democratic nominee? No, I really don’t. Is he still better in every category than Dolt 45? ABSOLUTELY! Will I vote for him if he’s the candidate who runs against Mango unchained? You better believe it!
So far the comments are showing Ted to be spot on in his assessment. Biden has long been known to be creepy around women. There’s plenty of pictures out there of women being creeped out as Biden sniffs their hair or touches them inappropriately. His actions (or should I say inaction) during the Anita Hill hearings were appalling—something he didn’t feel the need to apologize for until last year. 3 weeks ago, the same reporter who first reported on Christine Blasey Ford wrote about Tara Reade’s story. I’ve heard more about celebrity Biden supporter and #MeToo activist Alyssa Milano, who is connected to the Time’s Up organization caught up in the controversy through her husband, railing against Tara Reade using the very same arguments Republicans used to defend Kavanaugh than I did about the actual allegations themselves.
What part of the person who gets the most votes wins do people not understand? We had our chance to nominate Bernie— twice! We failed him, he didn’t fail us.
Bernie doesn’t think Joe is a senile rapist. I believe him.
Joe is a tool just like most all the politicians we have ever had. Are we so pure and perfect as to be unable to work with the tools we have? Is it some kind of cult thing that once the political messiah is cheated out of the game we resign ourselves and everyone else to Trump damnation and losing everything? If you want to get a job done you have to use the tools at hand.
Bernie should have been the Democratic nominee, and could have been had enough of us voted for him. We didn’t. Do we really think that this is all something new? Each past generation of Americans has been trapped in this dilemma. If a proper candidate and his supporters can overcome the corruption and immorality inherent to the human race— and certainly the political race — and garner the most votes, then they are rare treasure.
Bernie Sanders was my choice in 2016 and 2020. For some odd reason I trust him and have faith in his judgement and intelligence. I would certainly follow his leadership on any issue at which he is better informed than me— and that is most all of ‘em. Bernie has been right all along. Do we really believe that he is selling us out now by endorsing Biden?
My trusted would-be leader Bernie led me to vote for Hillary in 2016. He is still leading me, and I’m going to vote for Joe.
Joe Biden – first wife (and a daughter) killed in a car crash in 1977. Married his 2nd wife in 1977 and remains happily married. Hair Groppenfuror, our PINO – do you even want to go there, Ted? Or compare the mental/psychological capabilities of Joe Biden, who has honorably served the U.S. government since 1972, with a pathological narcissistic xenophobe who will bend any rule of law or social norm to “get his”?
Better get it out of your system now, Ted, because if people like you mean #45 gets elected again, AMERICA IS DONE.
We have a narcissistic psychopath who has used a pandemic to scam money for himself, who uses briefings to discuss his ratings, and who has taken time out to punish people who helped ensure his impeachment.
And you’re still whining about Biden? He’s not my favorite, either, but he’s LIGHT YEARS ahead of #45. And now he has to pay attention to Sanders and Warren.
Getting him in buys us time to get someone better. If #45 gets in again, don’t fool yourself: we may lose that choice.
A choices between Biden’s senile/crazy and trumps.. folly? (hard to put all of trumps deficiencies in one word) should be a no brainier.. But sadly, history has shown that Americans lack brains when it comes to voting.
WTF, Ted?!? Are you trying to gin up outraged comments? I appreciate your cynicism, but strips like today’s seem to follow the Fox/GOP playbook of promulgating false equivalencies. Government isn’t necessarily bad unless it’s being run by Repubs or pseudo-libertarians.
Trump is literally insane. He demonstrates that every single day – without exception. Look at the trail of death and destruction in his wake. It’s terrifying. What could be worse?
Conservatives try to change the definition of “politically correct” to favor and cover up for their actions… but it’s “not fair” if their opponents use these new “politically correct” tactics back on them…
Ted is doing his job of using his first amendment rights to passionately promote his opinion of what he believes would be his ideal candidate and policies. Now, of course politics and governance in a democracy is a lot more than people expressing opinions and executives acting on them or theirs, as we have so cruelly been taught those past three years. This may be best summarized by Churchill’s quote that “… democracy is the worst form of government except for all those other forms that have been tried…”. So, yes, democracies will commit atrocities and make huge mistakes, although, obviously they shouldn’t. Heck, they may even commit suicide from time to time (although, usually only once!) as our founding fathers have warned us. Suicide is final and therefore should be avoided at all cost. So, perhaps, just perhaps, it is incumbent on the (majority of the) shareholders (We, the People) to act with reason rather than emotion. That means voting, and sometimes voting for the lesser of two evils, even if that seems the feckless thing to do (so we can continue to passionately voice our opinions and squabble away online)!
I like Sanders’ ideas, but I don’t think he has ever shown the ability to build broad coalitions, a necessary requirement for the office of president. I am not saying Biden is very talented in this aspect, but he has shown more ability than Sanders, both in the Senate and as Veep. I supported Sanders in the 2016 primary mainly because I thought it would push his ideas into the party platform, which to an extent it did. The same holds now. The ideas of some kind of universal health coverage, of a decent minimum wage and of affordable higher education are going to be in there, so in great substance, he has succeeded in his primary objective—and he will still be in the Senate voting.
There’s a theme running through all of this, one that those who pay no attention to history can’t see let alone fathom. The vast majority of the population really hasn’t really cared that much who was elected president. They have accepted since the founding of the nation the idea of an unspoken level of corruption in our government, a level that whether you want to accept it or not exists in ALL governments. In large part it’s know as compromise, in politics it was, up until conservatives decided to take the our way or no way attitude of today, it was euphemistically referred to as, “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours”. One side giving on one issue to receive support on another. Today we have evolved polar opposites to that philosophy, one made up of the “all or nothing” opposed by the “if I can’t get my way you aren’t getting yours either no matter the cost.” Unfortunately for the majority of Americans these two groups are small horribly vocal minorities at each end of the spectrum whose messages are drowning out all the reasonable positions in between. Neither extreme is pure honest or good, period. Biden believe it or not is of neither extreme but one of the last notable vestiges of the seldom heard now old school. The ones who got things done because they new damn will that anytime two “all or nothing” factions came head to head the winner would always be NOTHING. Trump and his minions don’t get it, Bernie and his minions can’t grasp it either. Only Biden of the three may still possess the skills needed to restore what was America to moving forward in the world, though the ignorance, apathy, and stubbornness he’ll have to fight through will be a Herculean task.

Onward Tяumpian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
With the cash of D.C.
Going on before.
Tяump, the royal Master,
Leads against old Joe;
Forward into battle,
See, His troll bots go!
At the name of Covid
Donny’s host doth flee;
On then, Tяumpian soldiers,
On to infamy!
Tяump’s own minions quiver
In the face of death:
Voters, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise!
Like a spellbound army
Moves the Church of Tяump;
Voters, we are heading
Where the trolls have led;
We are all divided,
Not one body we—
Only in Death and Dying,
One infernally.
Clowns and tweets may perish,
Lawsuits rise and wane;
But the Church of Tяumpus
Constant will remain.
Tales of truth can never
’Gainst the Tяump prevail;
We have Tяump’s own promise,
Which never fails to fail.
Onward, then, ye sheeple!
Join our crappy throng;
Blend with ours your vices
In the triumph-o’-the-will song.
Death, fraud and dishonor
Along with Tяump we swing;
Thus through His countless bungles
Our death song He will sing.
