Not just a fool. Not even just a BLOODY fool. He’s a bloody_murdering *idiot*_ fool.
Fortunately Fauci is there to downplay as much of the idiocy as possible, though even he complained that “It’s not as though I can throw myself between him and the microphone.” (approximately). The real problem, imo, is that the states and communities need a lot more medical equipment. A LOT more. And they’re not going to get enough. I’m still hoping that my state gets through this better than New York City… hoping, but not at all certain.
Didja see the video about how to turn a vacuum cleaner bag into a mask? Or the news about turning scuba gear into a medical respirator? Good stuff. Good enough? Not clear.
The covid-19 virus primarily kills the old and weak- that is so. BUT – you thought there wasn’t a “but”. chum?
It is the secondary, knock on effects that will kill young people. How is that? By tying up America’s entire health system. You won’t be getting the care you think is your “right” —assuming the doctor or nurse isn’t down with covid-19 in the first place.
If you have major (or minor) trauma, think you can get prompt effective care? If your kid breaks his arm? If you have an MI? a stroke? a burn? If you get cancer? You name it, who will treat it?
NOW do you understand? You are looking down the throat of 3rd world medical care. You bought the ticket for that ride when you failed to dump Trump.
I’ve been wondering if the newest CPAP machines could substitute as ventilators for mild cases. Mine helps me breathe all night long. Could add O2 like a canula does. Hmmm.
Currently threatening to sue (or denying licensing or even medical equipment to) anyone who makes note of his insanely wrong blatherings, Donny apparently believes he can just scratch a little dirt over this disaster and everything will just work itself out. (After which he will claim credit for saving the nation/world, of course. He’s already rejected responsibility.)
What does Trump have on ABC? That was the only network that ran yesterday’s rally/update in the Twin Cities. The other networks figured out people would rather watch Ellen, Judge Judy, and Jeopardy.
The administration doesn’t want the “heavy hand of government” to interfere with corporations that could supply the much-needed medical equipment (masks, ventilators, and the like). Oh no, the “heavy hand of government” should remain where it belongs, pressing down on the lower 90%.
Sad to see Trump encouraging his loyal followers to “pack the churches” just at the time we are seeing an explosion in the number of cases needing hospitalization. And he is doing it intentionally out of a callous disregard for their safety.
Read about 1 laid off fellow in Tulsa who has several 3D printers, he is making masks with them, over 200 a week. Then there are the church groups and homes for the elderly who are making lots of washable masks
n 2017, the White House’s National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense survived the transition intact. Its mission was the same as when the Obama administration established it after the Ebola epidemic of 2014: to do everything possible within the vast powers and resources of the U.S. government to prepare for the next disease outbreak and prevent it from becoming an epidemic or pandemic. One year later, the White House dissolved the office, leaving the country less prepared for pandemics like covid-19.The U.S. government’s slow and inadequate response to the new coronavirus underscores the need for organized, accountable leadership to prepare for and respond to pandemic threats. In a health security crisis, speed is essential. When this new coronavirus emerged, there was no clear White House-led structure to oversee our response, and we lost valuable time. Health systems are struggling to test patients and keep pace with growing caseloads. The specter of rapid community transmission and exponential growth is real and daunting. The job of a White House pandemics office would have been to get ahead: to accelerate the response, empower experts, anticipate failures, and act quickly and transparently to solve problems. It’s impossible to assess the full impact of the 2018 decision to disband the White House office responsible for this work, but it is clear that eliminating the office has contributed to the federal government’s sluggish domestic response. What’s especially concerning about the absence of this office today is that it was originally set up because a previous epidemic made the need for it quite clear. When asked about the slow roll-out of coronavirus tests in the U.S. on March 13, President Trump responded, “I don’t take responsibility at all.” Trump is not just responsible for it. He owns it The Trump Plague is not just his responsibility. It’s his fault.
Time to take action, instead of just wishing for it, Mr. President! Write an executive order banning all Covid-19 and raising the stock market back to where it was. After all, your wishes should be everyone’s command…
Its day has come! “Guy shopping”: Know what you want, go to a store that has it, find it on the shelf where you expect it, take it, pay for it, leave. Elapsed time: 5 minutes.
Given occupancy limits in many stores these days, this is a good practice for everyone. Get in, get out, make room for others.
