Tell Wally to watch his feet! Maybe he will notice then. The multitude of toothbrushed does appear sinister. Like the belongings of the disappeared passengers in The Langoliers

Toothbrushes! Indicates a resident that has opposable thumbs and still has their own teeth. Leading possibility: a toothy monster with a good dental plan. Set Dittos to ‘stun.’

Oh God, I got this feeling somebody told an army of manufacturing machines ‘build more toothbrushes’ and they forgot a decimal place or something so the machines started to cram whatever they could find into the hopper…

There definitely seems to be an overabundance of toothbrushes, scattered around incongruously in that public plaza. Alan is the only one who seems to find it odd enough to take note of it. Wally brushed off Alan’s concerns; I’m waiting to see Alan be vindicated for picking up that important detail instead of taking a too-broad view of “the big picture”.

Alan seems to be the only one who is looking at the big picture.

I bet there’s a shrine to some very toothy god, and the toothbrushes are offerings. Seeing as there was a big Cola sign on the tower, it may be the god of cavities.

In this reality, toothbrushes are used as cents. Or they replace rice at a wedding. Or …

OK…today’s strip just gave me the eeriest feeling. Obviously those toothbrushes will be important soon, and not in a good way… why do I have the feeling that Alan will be the one to suffer most…?

Hey Wally, look! This toothbrush has a little face on it. This one too, and here’s another…and they’re all different.

Yeah, Alan, that is weird. Doesn’t anyone floss anymore? Mental.

    1. Wally needs to brush up on his trans dimensional realities.

    2. The god of this reality is……. CREST! (But you can just call him CREST!)

Maybe they were all turned into the graffiti we see on the columns?

I sure wish Aaron would just date the comic strips the day they came out instead of always back-dating them. Because he remains pretty consistently two days late, we, the readers, likely would never notice the change.

Anyone else notice that the toothbrush bristles in panel #3 changed in panel #4? Not sure if that change is the appearance of toothpaste or something else.

I wonder if using a toothbrush to clean the teeth of graffiti caricatures will bring them to life? … I encountered similar things while playing some AD&D campaigns about 30 years ago.

Has anyone else noticed some of the “graffiti” looks a little… familiar ? For instance the “boat being chased by a whale” on the lintel in the first panel.
