Can you say Annus Horribilis (except for the Big Bubble stock market. Look out below!)? Sure, I knew you could! And it would appear that 2020 is nothing to look forward to…
[[ to this site’s poetry editors: – Thanks for your remarks. Would my rhymes be OK-enuff if short {as below}? ]] … … [[ to meter-stumbling readers: – Try “three beats per line” for the following. ]]
Not that much different than when 2018 was run off.. in fact there is hope now that the first step of removing one of the main causes of chaos has been taken. Still.. the world is in a pretty bad place.
Calling all those who Comment: Is there a way to turn off the “auto correct” feature? I get some pretty weird substitutions in my comments, and sometimes they get through my proofreading. Yesterday I meant to type “Dies Irae,” and I just noticed it went through as “Dies Ira.” (Apologies to anyone named Ira.). And just now it substituted “Iraq.” Okay, you Printer’s Imp, let’s press Comment and see what happens …

May the Year 2020 Bring … – {rhyme}
May the year two thousand and twenty

[off-topic, and SPEAKING of being too heavily influenced by Dr. Seuss………]
I do not like Orange Ham-for-brains
His constant lying gives me pains
And every place he goes, he stains
From shining sea to fruited plains
(Could we feed him to Great Danes?
Or else to lions, proud in manes?)
If only Mitch would take the reins
And stop this horse**** in its tracks
Instead of claiming lies are facks
