Defeating the resident while allowing the machinery that distorts democracy, socialism, math, science, religion, economics, humanity, objective truth, the environment, allies, and family in place (while supporting our foes) would be a very hollow victory.
The only way to actually make this country work for the middle class, not just the rich, is to vote for the candidate who promises that objective— all the way down to school board. Sure, some of them are lying, but some of them are telling the truth. And, if they aren’t telling you they are working for the middle class, believe them. Repeat as often as they open the polls. You just need informed voters so the good ones stay and the corporate stooges can go get a job with their contributors. If you really want to know who a candidate will be working for, look at a site called “Open Secrets”. There are others, but this is a good one. It will tell you who is financing their campaign…………………………………………..…………… We all have to do the bidding of who ever is supplying the money to pay our bills. So do politicians. If most of their money is coming from individuals, unions, or other organizations representing the Middle Class, that is who they are going to work for. If most of their money is from banks, etc, they are going to work for the 1%. They don’t really have any choice if they want to win the next election. To vote their conscience against the 1% would be political suicide.
Taking into account all of the closet Trump voters, the Democrats need to nominate someone who can win back rural whites in the upper Midwest; these are the people who turned against the party in 2016. Win back those states to assure victory.
That’s the catch of course. Until Trump is defeated repairing all the damage he’s done and getting rid of the traitors he’s put in place to protect HIM can’t begin. Once the first rotten apple is removed from the barrel the work can begin to save the rest.

Democrats are mostly a lot brighter than this. It may be item 1, but that’s enough. There might be sub-headings such as

Actually, it can be reduced to ONE resolution: “Save America from the Republican Party!”

Throw Trump and Moscow Mitch out of office and save what’s left of the republic.

Get it right, Rogers.
Defeating Trump is not the goal.
Defeating the ignorance and hatred that put Trump in power, THAT is the goal.
And if writing it a million times is necessary to get it done, so be it.

It’s McConnell who won’t let a single house bill come to a vote.
The silent right wing Republican coup needs to be exposed.
Bring some of Mr Trump’s real crimes to light instead of impeaching him over a phone call. As the Republicans say, “its not sexy enough”.
Bring up the 20 women who are holding charges against the orange rapist.

There’s nothing wrong with the goal. It is the means to the end that is worrisome.
