“Re-creating the 2010’s in 2030 will be almost impossible.” We can hope.

What we really need is a major resurgence of political participation by young people as in the 1960s. However, I would prefer not to see the accompanying faded jeans and love beads. The beards are coming back into fashion, although much shorter. And of course, pot is becoming legalized (who would have imagined?). Can a tamer version of LSD be far behind?

I never heard the term “yacht rock” but that is so, SO appropriate.

Ripped Jeans: Both in our late 20s, a drug sales rep once asked me after admiring my work jeans, “If you didn’t buy them like that, how did you get the rips in them?” One of my longest face-palms ever…

Anyway, just wear what you please, listen to what you please, and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks.

In 2030, it’ll be ‘earnest retro’.

LOL.. I love faded jeans and flannel shirts. Speaking of beach themed.. a big NO! to Jimmy Buffet tropical attire.

There was no year Zero, the first Decade ran run year 1 to year 10, the first Century from year 1 to year 100, the first Millennium from year 1 to year 1000, why are people now thinking they end in a year with a 9 instead of a 0?

There’s a year before these trends have to peak and disappear – the end of the decade is 2020.

Young California Chicanos were wearing oversized plaid flannel shirts, buttoned up to the neck with khaki work pants back in the 1960s and 70s.
