    “Well, Mayor Pennypacker, what are you gonna do about the Indian vote?”

    I actually think Freberg was ahead of his time in some lines, PC-wise. “What you mean you discovered America? We here first” But he’d probably get dinged for using sterotypical speech patterns – like that for the Native Americans.

    Of course, the be-bop musicians at the end might be puzzling, as well as references to Norman Rockwell (That skinny painter with the pipe), the McCarthy hearings… oh, well.

    It’s still always going to be one of my faves.
