    He’s no different than any other capitalist, really. Just that he’s found a way to monetize a “free” service… and the more hits each post gets the more money and power those hits generate for him and his stock holders. He has no economic incentive to enforce truth on posters, and there’s not much else that incentivizes him.

    Rampant, out-of-control abuse of free speech rules the day. It isn’t all Zuck’s fault, but this “anything goes” policy ain’t helping matters any. A very slippery subject: Who’s to judge what’s proper and what’s not? When you get to the bottom of this issue, it’s the USERS, the ABUSERS who are the problem.

    Wool-pulling – {a rhyme}

    On Facebook™ they pull their wool

    across us innocents’ eyes.

    Maliciously full of bull,

    the Truth they brutalize

    and by Facebook™ they’re left unchecked. – - -

    - – - Historians will write in retrospect

    that “Forces like Facebook™ squashed and wrecked

    the Trust which society needs

    as democracy’s discourse proceeds.”

    Russians. Russians. Now in Chile too. Causing issues. For me and you. Russians. Causing upheaval. Using climate control as an anti-American wedge. Russians. Wedgies. Always doing Russian things. Russians.

    People volunteer all their info online and then blame the Facebook. Zuckerberg didn’t force you to do it. By the way, Google just bought Fit Bit, Ha, ha, ha, ha!! Now they will be selling all your fitness info to any buyer. I am not me on sensitive sites such as that.

    “How can lying and innuendo be monetized?” seems to be the primary question in Zukerberg’s mind. Serving stockholder’s needs is always a higher priority than serving users with verified true objective information.

    -) Listen, I have it all figured out. There’s not much time before they come for me …

    Trump and Zuckerberg and any number of people high in Government and Business have seized on the tenets of Bokononism and warped them to suit their own selfish ends. The harmless ”foma” meant to shield people from truth are now full-blown whopper lies.

    News media are the enemy of the people — to paraphrase DT. That’s snatched and distorted from the Books of Bokonon, can’t you see? Oh, you poor “stuppas” (fog-bound children)!

    DT at this point might just as well boldly state, “All of the true things I’m about to tell you are shameless lies.” But that’s not what kind, gentle Bokonon meant! I expect anytime now the Trumpites, having cynically appropriated a distorted framework of Bokononism, will start using sacred terms like kurass, wampeter, duprass, and granfalloon. Then we’ll all be in a fine pool-pah (s—- storm), won’t we?

    Wait … I hear loud footsteps running up the stairs … there’s a crashing at the door! As I frantically press COMMENT … THE DOOR IS DOWN! … REMEMBER! …

    Soon You’ll Have Balked – {a rhyme}

    As impeachment proceedings commence,

    the ominous forest is dark and dense

    where Trump is being stalked,

    and he has no valid defense.

    Pundits have thusly talked

    in the “future perfect” tense:

    “After Trump’s gone, quite soon you’ll have balked

    when then for a while you’ll have walked with Mike Pence.”

    Boy, will ever you wince.

    Being payed to help distribute and disseminate false and misleading disinformation produced/supported by an adversary for the purpose of disrupting our elections is not free speech, it is criminal activity. Fraud undetected is still fraud. It is not incumbent upon on the individual .

    Micro-targeted lies propagated via Facebook have had a major effect on politics, in both the U.S. and the U.K. Yet people like billionaire Tom Steyer have contributed nothing to a counterattack. For a (to him) paltry sum, the devastating effects of Facebook could be at least partially reversed. Yet, crickets.

    Here’s a sample of what was done: https://infacts.org/vote-leave-lying-facebook-ads-look-even-worse-2-years-on/

    Trump and his Lackeys – {a rhyme}

    The prez is described as √ “psychotic”

    {not merely “bizarrely neurotic”},

    with his √ brain’s synapses sclerotic,

    and his √ personality despotic,

    and his √ governing style chaotic.

    And his yes-men tend idiotic,

    with their motives unpatriotic: -

    - Their Self-serving goals

    drag us into the shoals; …

    … where our Ship of State gets stuck

    in the sycophants’ brown-nosing muck.
