The Raccoons have arrived!!!

I thought the man, woman, toddler and baby were going to go missing. Now I see. This is going to be about Goldie’s missing people! That makes it even more heart breaking! When we saw the moving truck, we also saw trash cans sitting out. Does anybody know how long ago that strip appeared?

Oh, now I’m more certain than ever Goldie’s tied in with that moving van we saw several months ago. If her People are missing because they left her, I’m tracking down that moving van and Words will be had.

In the meantime, I wonder what the raccoons know? Investigative reporter Goldie is on the case!

My faith in humanity diminishes each time I hear of people leaving their pets behind to defend for themselves on the streets. Dear dear Goldie, did someone abandon you IRL?

Darn you, trash pandas. Your cuteness doesn’t fool me!

The missing people ARE trash. So sad and depressing on a Monday..

Both my cats were abandoned- Mandy was the runt of the litter and about to be dumped in a parking lot when someone rescued her. Natalie ( on the left) was left in a box in the woods with her sister and brothers. Mandy is still going strong at 14 and Natalie is 7.

Sneaky Georgia; when she posted the sketch version of the last panel to social media back on 9/16, the ear wasn’t notched, so it never occurred to me that the cat saying the raccoons know something was Goldie!

Mr Kitty aka Pan was abandoned. I’d seen him around the bird feeder a few months before, and he was sleek and well-tended, also a purebreed of some sort. When my golden retriever Molly herded him to me and asked me to feed him, he was starving with his fur matted and covered in ticks. He was so trusting and attached to my mom I decided he’d been owned by some elderly person, and he’d been lost in the chaos of a nursing home or a death. He and Molly were best friends to the end of Molly’s life because he knew who had saved his life.

My thanks to many of the commenters here. We’ve had cats for more than 40 years, many of them rescues. Now in our later years we have two fairly young cats (almost 2 and 5 months) and I never really considered what would happen to them when we passed. As I said thank you to those who have now made me consider planning ahead for their needs when we are gone.

A few years ago I encountered a frantic woman going from house to house in our neighborhood. Seems the old lady next door took her cat and dropped him off somewhere in our area. She said she didn’t know it was this other ladies cat….she knew very well who’s cat it was. My heart ached so much for this woman, we looked around but no cats in sight. A special place should be reserved in Hades for that old woman.

We have ended up with a couple of cats, and their kittens, when the neighbors moved out of state. I’m still trying to find homes for the older babies, and one mama is about to give birth any time.

Off-topic: Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement last Friday. It means so much! My wife and I are still coping with the news, though the cat himself doesn’t seem too ill, outwardly, yet. We’ve asked all kinds of questions about treatments and options, and right now we’re just in a “wait and see” pattern, as most of the more specific diagnostic options have too high of a chance of making him sicker, faster. He’s getting soooooo many snuggles, believe me.

I went back to that teaser art for October, and it looks like Goldie’s going to interview quite a cast of characters in her quest! I can’t wait!

My ex husband took my sweet Oliver, left him on the neighbors doorstep and told me that they took him in. I couldn’t take him with me when we moved. When I found out I went looking for him but he was nowhere. I breaks my heart still, almost 30 years later, that he may have died thinking I didn’t want him.

Ah, so Goldie is a P.I. Cue action packed theme music.

I have a question…will we be able to see all of the our nine lives meet dark shadows halloween special under the headlines like the christmas special. I can never seem to find all the episodes. Sre they done every day.

I started out buying my kitties through a pet store then started utilizing the SPCA. Our fourth kitty, though, was an abandoned pet. She wandered our area, particularly a certain patio, before noting my hubby’s interest and we found her on our doorstep ON THE SECOND FLOOR. This corner of hell better be connected to the hottest thing in the universe. Sweetie Pie didn’t meow and had birth defects. She was missing her front right shoulder blade and upper arm. The lower bones were there, but the paw was deformed and it was like there was no bone in the paw at all. No claws either. Her left front leg and paw were fine. There seemed to be something wrong with her lower back and hips, she walked in a slow, hopping gait, nothing like most tripod kitties. She didn’t have many teeth. To defend herself she would sit back on her hind legs, balance with the good left leg and slap out with the right leg. Whap, Whap, Whap. We finally coaxed her into our apartment. After a decent meal and a bath (washed away so much dirt and flea crap it looked like she was bleeding and we found she was a torti i/o a solid color) and nap, we set her on my hubby’s lap to trim her paws. On her good paw there were two claws, her thumb and another one, which had grown so much they were embedded in the pad. She was so still as we carefully clipped the offending claws to a normal length and carefully extracted the embedded portions, there was very little bleeding and proper tending had them healing with no problems. She was with us another 5-6 years. We nicknamed her ‘Grateful Kitty’ because she always ate what was given. I remember one time when she got up to the top of the couch and came over to where I was sitting, begging another piece of chicken. As she died shortly afterwards we were unable to make gains on that growing confidence and self-esteem. Wait for me at the bridge, Sweetie Pie, I know your sisters and brother are waiting there waiting for us and they will welcome you.

Oh dear. It’s only the start of this mystery and I foresee an epidemic of inferior-quality fuzzy screens, onion-ninjas, dust flying into our eyes, massive allergy attacks…. We are all-

Honestly, Goldie, just forget about those loathsome people who abandoned you! You deserve way better and luckily there is a household where you will be appreciated, eventually!! O My Cat! I am having a hard time waiting for Goldie’s adoption day!
