I think that Trump’s scales of “justice” are operated by the same doctor who gave him a physical, and to the same standards.

They both got deported.

And they are both women. Trump and company are staying true to form.

Between Barr and Trump they are screwed.

Damn. This was deeply ironic or should I say philosophical.

I suggested a similar cartoon for post election/impeachment day: Statues of Justice and Liberty side by side with big grins, frazzled and the cartoonish missing tooth, but with the caption “They persisted.”

I remember when the United States of America was dignified.

Then the clown car showed up.

Did you hear there’s been a sudden deadly outbreak of Epstein-Barr virus in New York City jails? Yeah, apparently it strikes criminal defendants when they decide to turn state’s evidence with dirt they have on a sitting president, and the Attorney General orders a “thorough investigation.”

Why is it that images of the virtues of Justice and Liberty and Truth are usually in the female form? Is it because they are considered so easy to abuse? Just a thought… Someday those women are going to get off their pedestals and beat the crap out of the people who abused them.

In 1903 (the year the poem was mounted to the base of the statue) the US denied entry to 5812 hopeful immigrants because….

wait for it….

They were at risk for “becoming a public charge”.

So much for the poor, the homeless and the wretched refuse. The US has been turning away people who cannot self support for well over 130 years. Beginning in 1882 the US barred entry to “idiots, lunatics, convicts, and persons likely to become a public charge.”

let’s just hope they are not preggers.

Notice how more and more it seems that rich folks find that they’re able to make it “Justice is for Just Us”?
