If it were a thousand years ago this would be the method to determining pregnancy. I recommend she get a second opinion, or not, she should let Ellie think she’s pregnant so she doesn’t retaliate for what happened to Hubbs.
Don’t get me wrong after all this time it would feel like a life-changing experience if Sedine were pregnant, but I doubt it. To no one’s surprise I’m no expert on women, but I am the son of a NYC nurse who has assisted obstetricians, not to mention she gave birth to 3 other sons after me, women most often don’t start to show until a couple of months after they’re pregnant(especially for first time mothers), by then Sedine would have had other and more reliable signs she was pregnant. This is most likely a false pregnancy, I’ve heard most women have at least one pregnancy scare in their lives, especially before they have their first.
Can’t wait to see Sam’s face… On a funny note, at first, I tought she she was going to say she put on a few pound on the back, then brag about thickness…
I was hoping the Creator (“May Her fixative never loosen!”) wouldn’t take this route. The whole pregnancy schtick tends to become the focus of the strip. Male readership will decline, since guys, no matter how egalitarian otherwise, cannot identify.
Already we have the premise that a woman could be 5 or so months pregnant without noticing the signs. Anyway, what’s the point of needing a pregnancy, anyway? In a cartoon strip it’s just as easy to add a baby that was somehow overlooked since the beginning, or perhaps found on the street after a heavy rain. Ink it in!
But then we have the whole baby schtick. Same problems as the pregnancy schtick. Why not a puppy instead? Lots of laugh potential there. Ellie will fall in love with it, as will ‘Ow after some hilarious interactions. The kids across the street will be over the moon. A nice little puppy, all paws and ears and tongue. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
I figured we would have an interesting summer, with the countdown to the Ellie/Al Reveal, but I never (I repeat, NEVER!) saw this coming. Oh, I can’t wait to see how Sam and everyone else reacts to the speculation… and, most importantly, what the doctor will eventually say.

Is Sedine really ready to become a mother though? Not to mention it feels a little early for this strip to start the baby arc.

You sure about that, Sedine?

Or it could mean a trip to the gym. Don’t get me wrong I like meat on my women but it’s most likely body weight.

She should name the baby,
Seconds on triple fudge ice cream.
Sure, he/she might get teased in school, but it will serve as a reminder.

With your body, Sedine, you will have a basketball pregnancy. A bumb in front, bigger boobs, everything else stays the same.

Love Gabby’s take on it. That is so funny.

There are better ways to determine pregnancy. I’m guessing Sedine has been eating for two.

Nobody has mentioned mood swings yet. With Sedine, they’ll probably register on the Richter Scale.
