    They won’t touch illegal immigration.

    .

They won’t utter even a single sentence about businesses hiring illegals.

They could, of course, provide resources in the form of immigration judges. That would cut down on some of the congestion but then there wouldn’t be a ‘problem’ and that runs counter to the desires of the mental invalid pretending he’s an emperor.

Why deal with that problem? Congress sees a solution as being akin to allowing the nation to pull back a curtain on that little, insignificant man instead of being awed by the great and powerful Oz! We might then have time to look at boondoggles and pork, gerrymandering, invasions on civil and reproductive rights, letting HMO’s, insurance companies, and big pharma run healthcare, letting businesses strip regulations we actually need, etc, etc.

We’re dysfunctional with a binary opposing political system that makes Congress dysfunction and the resident has no reality based concept of cause and effect and often confuses the two.

They going all the way with this $#it now. New Americans being pictured as as a gross medical condition afflicting the “body of the state”. My god, it’s a page right outta the Nazi playbook.

We are all immigrants to this place. It is what we are all about. America needs new workers. Nobody is gonna take your job. If a new American is as good as you at what you do than you had best get off your lazy butt and try harder.

If you are worried about the de-whitening of America then you obviously don’t realize that all humans came from Africa. Americans are simply Americans regardless of how tanned they are. Drugs come in at the ports & airports in mass quantities. We jail more people than the rest of the world combined. What criminal would want to come here to do their thing?

The president we elect in 2020 need only propose universal mandatory e-verification and Congress to write a simple law to that effect. The more new Americans legally allowed in the better.

You have to remember that most Republicans happen to believe that THEY are “God’s Chosen People” because they HAPPENED to be born a totally random color, on a totally random section in the middle of a totally random continent in a totally random hemisphere on a totally random planet in a totally random solar system in a totally random galaxy! Yesiree bob, they sure were put here for a purpose, you betcha!!

Republicans: we created a problem so we can blame the other side for not resolving it.

The other day a patient said she had tossed out her new Medicare card. “They only issued those without a Social Security number so they could give free insurance to illegal immigrants who don’t have numbers. I use my real card.” When she was told she simply couldn’t use the old one, she was, shall we say, highly indignant.

Uncle Sam has several of these inflammations. Too many of the “docs” seem to be ignoring their existence and insisting no treatments are needed.

Republicans are increasingly comfortable with President Donald Trump’s proposal to deeply cut legal immigration.

Our president is a genius. He’s cutting aid to all the Central American countries so more of their peasants will starve and try to cross the border and die, making for a REAL crisis, and Trump will have a stronger argument for his Wall.

    Well, let’s break it down:

    1. There is no connection between immigration and crime (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/immigrants-do-not-increase-crime-research-shows/)

    2. States with larger shares of undocumented immigrants have LOWER crime rates (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2018/06/19/two-charts-demolish-the-notion-that-immigrants-here-illegally-commit-more-crime/)

    3. Illegal immigration has declined since 2007 (so #45 can’t take any credit for it) (http://time.com/4167626/donald-trump-ted-cruz-ads-immigration/) – in fact, more people are LEAVING to go TO Mexico.

    4. Many states depend on undocumented workers to do dirty jobs Americans won’t do (proven fact): the crackdown on immigration has meant that crops cannot be gathered and are rotting in the fields in some states. (http://fortune.com/2017/08/08/immigration-worker-shortage-rotting-crops/)

    5. The GOP previously STRONGLY SUPPORTED the use of marginally legal immigrants, e.g., “guest workers” who could stay for two years at a time. Why? It provides cheap labor without citizenship protections, such as minimum wage, etc. George W. Bush, former governor of a state benefiting from undocumented workers, “strongly supported” the 2007 bill that enabled this and provided input himself. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comprehensive_Immigration_Reform_Act_of_2007)

    6. Oh, and let’s not forget that the majority of “illegals” are NOT border crossers, but simply people who came here legally on a visa and overstay the time (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/visa-overstays-outnumber-illegal-border-crossings-trend-expected-continue-n730216)

    7. The “build the wall” mantra is just nonsense. We aren’t threatened by illegals, we depend on them. Instead of providing a path to citizenship for productive workers (who make good citizens), Trump demonizes them instead, as shown by his horrific treatment of refugees — refugees, incidentally are by definition LEGAL immigrants.

    QED.

Of course the Republicans just KNOW that when there is a severe shortage of people willing to do stoop labor in farm fields for hours at a time, or to work at tedious, messy jobs like chicken processing, today’s youngsters will WILLINGLY drop their iPhones, and iPads, and RUSH to do that work for minimum wage…and quite often LESS then minimum wage!

Yeah, SURE they will! Uh-huh. Right.

I love Breen’s simile of Congress as “physician”! A real doctor would be examining the root causes of the “illegal” problem, but THIS “quack” is just going to keep prescribing lotions, shots and other medications while totally ignoring the underlying causes.

And, in the case of Donnie John, the “Cure” would either be amputation or a tourniquet applied around the neck! Thereby proving that there ARE “solutions” worse than seeing a “quack”; much worse!

Just like Soc. Sec. been years they knew things were bad, but to fix it NO. Post office being in the RED for years ,but they just raise postage instead of cutting out 1 day a week. I had a business for 23 years and if I did things their way I would have lost it in about 3 years. !!

I’m reading “Call it Sleep”, by Henry Roth right now. It’s a great (but depressing) novel about Jewish immigrants in early 20th century New York. I recommend it. No political point here, just a really great book.
