Climate change is a very real national (actually global) emergency, with the very existence of the human race under threat. Misleading cartoons like this one should be banned, because they keep impressionable and less educated segments of the population misinformed. This misinformation leads to lack of popular will to take costly but necessary remedial measures to protect the world as we know it.
They do seem to insist on showing off their lack of understanding of anything even remotely “Global” Yesserie! an elephant is very much just like a snake!
It seems that Mr. Ramirez did not read the first entry in the Catechism of the Church of Climate Change:
Before human beings started burning stuff (first wood, then coal, then oil), the Earth’s climate was both stable and ideal – never too hot, never too cold, always just right.
Another idiot who doesn’t know the difference between climate and local weather. I especially liked the cartoon from NOAA explaining how increase in ocean temperatures is feeding the Polar Vortex. Unfortunately too many like Trump won’t get it
You are correct, “jlocke” when you comment that science is never settled. That’s because they have a true and meaningful relationship with facts and the data that supports those facts. You simply don’t have that relationship. My guess is that your statistical and math skills are stunted. They are hard because real, true cerebral thinking is hard. Math and stats are hard. Often, they lead to ambiguous and nonlinear “answers.”
The thinking you do “jlocke” is child’s play in comparison.
I personally know climate scientists. Oh, and I am quite adept with statistics and math. At one point I was headed for a career in molecular biology.
One of those scientists said to me the other day something to the effect of: “You know, when science and math are too hard for some people, they turn to religion. It’s more comfortable for them because the hard work of thinking can be avoided in favor of a simplistic notion of faith. We scientists don’t have that luxury. We go to work every day with the certainty that we will be wrong. We just want to be a little less wrong every day.”
When it comes to climate science, these scientists have been just a little less wrong every day. While your blind faith gets stuck in one place. Science is a never ending search. Faith is a dead end street. Literally. Your faith is supposed to protect you from death itself. How much more of a dead end can there be?
Oh, come one. All this “climate change” science is just as phony as the science that says child vaccinations do not cause autism, right? Who needs vaccinations when the diseases have been eradicated, right? You know, like the measles. Oh, wait . . . . (/s)
It is only with the recent advent of computers and satellites that we are able to accumulate and analyze massive amounts of data to make more and more accurate weather and climate forecasts. Historical weather/climate events were surmised from geological/botanical/zoological data and anecdotal writings, lacking scientific precision.
Thousands of times, I have heard Liberals and scientists say, “Gee, that’s an interesting argument, backed up with much evidence. I’ll have to re-examine my original position on that issue.”
I have never heard a Conservative, politician, or a religious person say that.
Yes, the weather in your village this week totally refutes/confirms global climate change, and the weather in your village next week will totally confirm/refute it. Keep us posted….
I have to wonder, how do you shave in the mornings, when you can’t look at yourself in the mirror? And if you are Not completely ashamed of spouting such idiocy- you Ought to be. As the above commenter put it to you- Learn the difference between Climate, and Weather.
The saddest thing of all is that there are members of Congress who went to the same colleges, took the same courses and actually know that climate change is real, - just as their counterparts in the other party do -, but are overcome by partisanship and feel compelled to be loyal the party platform first over either independent critical thinking or loyalty to country. To them, I ask how can we be a great nation if we dismiss data and true faith evidence and in violation of your sworn oath* to support and defend and the US Constitution, you indeed put so many partisan reservations/evasions ahead of that obligation.
“I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

Yes, if you are still STUPID enough to be talking about “Global Warming” go put it on the fire, it’s where it belongs.
And while it is burning, take the time to do your homework and look up “Climate Change”. Quickly, before your willful ignorance destroys us all.

Ramirez must love to show off his ignorance in public. His cartoon and many of the comments show that everyone needs a basic education in science.

Human-caused climate change causes extremes – heat, cold, drought, floods. This is backed up by scientific, peer-reviewed science.
