Friends, Frogs, Applausians! The FAAS Shutdown shows no sign of abating.

In the interim, a Tumblr version is now online.

How very edifying. Did you know you can drink tea and expel flatulence at the same time?

“There are a number of quotes, attributed to Albert Einstein, that have recently been circulating on Twitter. You should know that these are mostly things that I have said. I’m not being petty, just accurate.”

As every schoolchild in Froglandia knows, verse 372 of O! Fronglandia says, “Comix brush, burns sweet and bright. Comix brush that warms our night. With zebra chips and road kill squirrel. We make our happy winter world.” This refers to the celebratory road kills that are taken as happy occasions in Froglandia. While modern Froglandians enjoy a level of plentiful provender that rivals and often exceeds that of the richest of nations, there was a time when the inclusion of fresh meat to the table was cause for great joy, if only for the variety it brought. Similarly, the zebra chip was highly prized for its festive appearance, and Froglandia Chips and Bits would set aside infected potatoes, treat them with food coloring, and process them separately to produce special festive packages of zebra chips with various coloring. It was a favorite tradition of Froglandians to serve FC&B ZCs with festive roadkill, which erased the monotony of winter, creating many happy memories.

I love Frog Applause because it jolts me out of any possibility of thinking today is like any other day. Kind of like Emily Dickinson, or vinegar-flavored potato chips. Or yes, even zebra chips.

P.S. The five things I like about today’s FA:

    1. “Frog Applause”– because who doesn’t like “bath mats”?

    2. Waking up – (no explanation needed)

    3. Santa Claus – the man, the myth, the legend

    4. Albert Einstein – the man, the accent, the hair

    5. Dostoevsky – the man, The Idiot, the Inquisitor

    6. BONUS! Eggos – (insert Homer Simpson drooling noise here)

A cup of the Skipper and Frog Applause was always a great way to start off a nutritious unbalanced breakfast.

Close! So very close! But you lost me at Eggos, which I never, and would never, “do” as part of my start, or finish (not Finnish). Sad. So very sad, so very close.

    We miss 3hourtour, too….
