Does the running story now make the strip non-non-sequitor? ;-)

Some newspapers cancelled Non-Sequitur which means that some readers will miss out on the conclusion.

Looks at first like attempting to avoid strife through appeasement, which usually serves only to encourage outrages. Gotta be a more complex reason behind this move.

An odd solution, though admittedly, giving in sometimes means you are just free enough to get close enough to take down the oppressor.

You are a Master storyteller and my very favorite Comic Genius! I love this particular story and miss you tremendously in our home newspaper, The Cleveland Plain Dealer. But I will nevertheless search and follow you wherever you go! Thank you so much for sharing your stories and your genius with all of us.

“Alternate futures”. Interesting. That’s just what The Prophet did in Mike Resnick’s Oracle trilogy. She could also often select the future she wanted. Maybe Genji + Nebbish can do the same.

I told the Dallas paper that non sequitur was one of the only two comics that I read. I also said that, as a subscriber, I completely understood and supported their decision that was made solely due to the vulgarity of the comment.

Any resemblance between Percival Skidmark, the Earl of Dook, and Berzelius Windrip, the fascist president of the United States in Sinclair Lewis’s 1935 novel It Can’t Happen Here is undoubtedly purely coincidental.

Not ashamed to say that I read this and had an immediate callback to the Avengers movie. Like the surviving Avengers, we have to wait to see if the only way to win is to lose.

No sensationalistic atrocity involving mass shootings, natural disasters, scores being burned alive in high-rise fires, abduction and years of rape of teenage girls, beheadings in Saudi Arabia, etc. is too upsetting and horrific to keep it out of the newspapers, but a word? A foul word? Oh, please spare us the emotional distress and likely lifelong PTSD, noble editors!

To those who poo-poo the censored cartoon and/or deem the Nebbish theme beneath them – Too bad art and free thought can’t cater to your every whim, while you want choices to be made only for your tastes. I’m sure you don’t consider such as being elitist or censorship but it comes across that way. There are many choices in life for you from which you may pick. Stifling creative thought and the opinions and speech of others is not one of the choices you get to make however. This is after all still America and we value the rights and creativity of all here. You have the right not to think if you choose but not the right to interfere with the rights of others who choose to do so. Here in America when the bill comes due it is the Bill of Rights.

I’m newer to this comic, and though I have been reading it the last several weeks, I am still confused by it. There seems to be no continuum… But, since it is Non Sequitur, I suppose it fits the name. That said, I would really like to understand what today’s comic is. Can anyone help me out? :) Please? From the comments, it looks like this was a previous story and they are now concluding it? But what about the other characters in this strip? How do they fit in? Thanks! Have a wonderful Sabbath.

My paper canceled this strip so I canceled the paper and now visit this website daily (even though I prefer the paper). We ALL have a right to free speech in this country right? That doesn’t mean we have to believe someone that has different opinions than we might, but we should respect it and NOT punish it. This country is messed up!

Anyone loving comics should be on this site. That way, they will see all of the comics they want. My paper carries NS all week but not on Sundays. I was told about this site and never looked back.

[Shaking head] The censorship had nothing to do with freedom of speech. It was unacceptable content in a medium read by children, in a format intended to cater to children (coloring).

The cartoonist should have known better, and should have been aware of the potential consequences. Especially as it was deliberately inked in manner to disguise its presence from the distributor’s editors.

I work in a people-oriented business, and am fully aware of the restraints on my behavior, language, and attitude that that sort of business generates. Especially if I want to keep receiving a paycheck on a regular basis.

Using the “F” word in my work environment, would result in my immediate firing. I’m aware of the consequences, and avoid experiencing them by behaving like a gentleman to our customers. Its not rocket science, it’s just plain good manners… and ensuring that you have a paycheck every week.
