The requirements for the female employees haven’t changed at Fox even after Ailes left.

Both ArcaMax and GoComics show the last frame saying POTUS uses ‘insecure’ phones. Gee, how sad. I guess POTUS’s phones need a therapist?

It is not illegal to seek asylum. If an immigrant were to cross over illegally, it would be a misdemeanor, not a felony, such as jay walking. We should not be treating it as a felony. The young families and grandmas who are trying to get into our country are not a threat. They will not chop off anyone’s head. The people who live there know better. They wouldn’t live there if they were afraid. The border towns such as El Paso and McAllen are some of the safest places to live in the United States. Many of the folks in Texas who are Republicans support the POTUS but do NOT support the wall. This is because it is a waste of money and they don’t want to give up their land to support something which is not needed. There are natural barriers in many of these places. Extreme desert conditions in which no one can survive. Large cavernous areas which drop 900 feet. Assuming you would survive jumping down, you would then have to somehow climb 900 feet back up.

I’m not a particularly big ‘fan’ of any president since Regan, however, I am getting tired of all the crap. Since the news is always shrill or seems biased I find myself cherry picking the middle ground stuff. I once used the lens of the news to see the world because I could not get there myself. I no longer trust their view. I am quite saddened by that.

While I don’t believe the media is the “enemy” I do think they have sometimes been guilty of not doing an effective job in many instances. They sometimes don’t offer a complete picture of the world. For example, often the media just refers to the religious right as “Christian,” which is an example of supreme laziness on their part. I grew up with many who were liberals who were both Catholic and Protestant, there are many Christian liberals in the world, many of whom know their bibles very well. Unlike the Christian right, they know that God never took a stand on abortion, for example, unless you count the book of Numbers 5:11-31, in which God gives Moses some strong advice on abortion, just in case a man finds out that his wife is unfaithful and pregnant with another man’s child, he is to take her to a priest and be given bitter water to drink with a curse placed on it to help her discharge the pregnancy from her womb. Liberals know about this text. Apparently, the right wing does not. In terms of Jesus, he never took a stand on abortion. It just is not in there. I mention this on the anniversary of the Supreme Court affirming the right of women to control their own bodies.

Conservative icon George Will, about Li’l Donnie: "Half or a quarter of the way through this interesting experiment with an incessantly splenetic presidency, much of the nation has become accustomed to daily mortifications. Or has lost its capacity for embarrassment, which is even worse………Dislike of him should be tempered by this consideration: He is an almost inexpressibly sad specimen. It must be misery to awaken to another day of being Donald Trump. He seems to have as many friends as his pluperfect self-centeredness allows, and as he has earned in an entirely transactional life. His historical ignorance deprives him of the satisfaction of working in a house where much magnificent history has been made. His childlike ignorance — preserved by a lifetime of single-minded self-promotion — concerning governance and economics guarantees that whenever he must interact with experienced and accomplished people, he is as bewildered as a kindergartener at a seminar on string theory.Which is why this fountain of self-refuting boasts (“I have a very good brain”) lies so much. He does so less to deceive anyone than to reassure himself. And as balm for his base, which remains oblivious to his likely contempt for them as sheep who can be effortlessly gulled by preposterous fictions. The tungsten strength of his supporters’ loyalty is as impressive as his indifference to expanding their numbers.Either the electorate, bored with a menu of faintly variant servings of boorishness, or the 22nd Amendment will end this, our shabbiest but not our first shabby presidency. As Mark Twain and fellow novelist William Dean Howells stepped outside together one morning, a downpour began and Howells asked, “Do you think it will stop?” Twain replied, “It always has.”
