Only thing harder than taking care of your kids: taking care of your parents and grandparents. Your kids will occasionally listen to you!

I don’t think Zonk will be able to deal with moving upstairs to adult responsibility, from his comfortable basement apartment, and his parents moving downstairs. Oh, the ignominy!

Good thing that later on Zonker founds a thriving pot enterprise.

Zonk’s dad remembers the old saying: “be kind to your children, for they shall be selecting your nursing home”.

“I’m sorry to say that I have two pieces of bad news for you.”

“Give it to me straight, Doc, I can take it.”

“First, I’m afraid you have cancer.”

“Oh, wow, what a downer. What’s the other one?”

“Sorry to say, you’ve got Alzheimer’s.”

“Man, that sucks. Well, at least I don’t have cancer.”

“That’s grim, Doc. How much time do I have left?”

    “10”

    “10 what?”

    “9 … 8 … 7 … 6 …”

We did that with our parents; the toughest thing was trying to disavow them of the notion that they should ‘die in their home’, instead of the long-term care facility with 24-hour attention…
