So…,why bother voting?

Gotta think long term, Ted. There’s quite a few progressives on the ballot this year, and we can try to replace more corporate sellouts with progressives in the next primary.

“Important” means a chance to pay attention to your conscience again.

So Ted, having legitimate hearings is not important to you?

Not to mention having a check on more Republican legislative ‘accomplishments’ — which you did NOT mention.

How about controlling the purse strings? All spending originates in the House.

Simply power to obstruct the worse aspects of Trump is more than a start.

That’s 3 comics in a row telling people that the election doesn’t matter. Not only is it a bad message, it’s repetitive.

Half a loaf is better than none.

I’m a fire breathing radical who grew up in the late ‘60s and early ’70s and have gone further left. Normally, I have nothing but contempt for most Democrats but I’m voting to get rid of Republicans. This election matters very much.

Oh, and one more thing. Donald Trump IS evil!

Vote – but don’t let voting satisfy your conscience. It’s not enough.

Imagine a Democratic House that votes to slash military funding, passes a Medicare for All bill, votes to cease waging and funding wars across the world, breaks up the banks….

Imagine a mountain of sh*t with a whole herd of unicorns underneath.

Still, I voted.

This is the reality, Ted. We cannot undo what has been done as quickly as it was done. We have to take what we can get and work towards our goals. The Rs have been working to get to this point since 1968. First Congress and statehouses (to kill the gerrymandering) Yeah, subpoena everyone to throw wrenches in the works. Maybe get the Senate, or at least a smaller R majority. The way it’s set up, it will take an election cycles or two. But you keep flailing away, we need it.

All of those people who have a guilt complex for letting Trump in the White House

are going to vote this time.

It could be a perfect storm against the Republicans.

And this is why we have who we have in the White House.

No, important means that at the very least we can keep Republican Fascism from taking over the nation completely! If they continue to control all three houses of government, we’re going to be even more thoroughly screwed.

Look at what the Republicans did to Hillary through their bogus hearings. (I hope the Democrats don’t act unethically like the Reds)

Why would you encourage people to not vote?

Sometimes incremental is the best possible outcome.

Incremental is how we got into this mess. Our adversaries out gun us, out spend us, out organize us etc.

The Senate is only “safely Republican” if we don’t vote. I’m starting to think I don’t need to spend my time reading Rall.
