Never liked computer games, let alone on a small phone screen. Oh, right,phones are now the size of I-pads for playing games, have cameras to challenge Nikons, but have lousy phone reception.

This will work just as well as anything out there. Reminds me of The Lathe Of Heaven.

The colours are much easier to see online. My paper comics were just a psychedelic smear.

I don’t use a phone for anything but to make calls, and I don’t do THAT very much!

Dogs are colorblind, but never seem uninterested in their surroundings. Of course, their strongest sense is not the visual. It would be fascinating to find out if colorblind people are uninterested in computer, phone or tablet screens…

“Colorblind” ≠ monochrome. Dogs can see quite a few colors.

I also refer to these devices as StupidPhones™ because, contrary to popular belief, they do not make anyone “smarter.” The average IQ seems to be dropping as evidenced by people walking into traffic and falling down stairs because they can’t divert their eyes from the screen for even a few seconds.

Technology is supposed to be beneficial, but it is reaching a point where too much dependence on these silly gadgets becomes detrimental. There are those who can’t perform simple tasks without consulting some idiotic phone app. We are witnessing the beginning of the downfall of society.

I wonder if the guy on my newsgroup who used to join in any conversation that mentioned pop culture by informing us all over again that he hasn’t owned a TV since 1985 would like to join this one. (Oh, and also that one was just a SMALL black and white set. So you know.)

I do lots with my iPhone, but can’t say video games is one of them. It is the same with my 20 year old kid too. Just saw a video of an idiot Leavenworth County Commisioner in Kansas claiming to a black woman he was a member of the master race. He has lost his job only because someone recorded it on a cellphone. That is just one example of many. There are many practical everyday uses as well which are very helpful. I would hate to do without it.

There are people who prefer black & white. They are called chromophobics, or people who have a fear of color.

Is everyone who reads this strip a Luddite ? Geeze!

The older Doonesbury comix are much more pointed, acerbic, and funny. He doesn’t seem to quite know what to say about modern times.

I think Trudeau has plenty to say about modern times. In fact, I think we need him more than ever. Garry, please come back to the dailies!

still using my flip-phone and desktop. Doing fine.

The only times I take my phone out of “Ultra Power Saving” mode is when I want to listen to the Music stored on the MicroSD Chip or use the built in Camera.

I must have taken 7 or 8 photos in the last year.

Music happens whenever I drive somewhere.

For those of you who say you don’t need the new technology, I am happy for you. Just so you know that many of us do not agree. I am glad to have access to the iPhone. I was waiting for it before it came out. I had a so-called smart phone before the iPhone and it wasn’t worth a hoot. It had limited access to the internet on a very small screen. For me, and many others, the iPhone changed my life for the better. It helps with organization more than anything else, in my case. Sometimes I flip through photos for entertainment or share them or read some news item. Other times I use the GPS to get some place. Still other times I take a photo in order to have a record of something, without having to write it down. And, of course, I can use the phone with it. When I first got the iPhone, I had a young child and it seemed like I was always in line and waiting for something related to taking care of her. In that case, it helped give me something to do rather than just sit there or stand there. Many people have found that they have been able to get quick access to help when they were in a dangerous situation because they had the phone with them, though I guess you could do that with a flip phone, there are also other ways to contact someone if you have a smart phone. I don’t say the phone means everything to me but I must say it is very useful.
