Republicans have put their party above our country ever since Obama was elected. Trump is the natural result of their total selfishness. A smart electorate would vote them out.
I was thinking as I read this cartoon about the position McConnell & Ryan are in. They really have no choice but to publicly support Don Juan, the President and head of their political party. Anything less than unqualified support would be seen nationally, if not globally, as either dooming the Administration or plotting a coup. But they have to walk a very fine line. If they ever do decide to remove him from office before he causes even more damage, they will have to act very quickly and decisively. Virtually no advance warning.
Listen to what people from professional military and high-level espionage backgrounds are saying about Don Juan. These are highly cautious, studiously apolitical individuals of generally conservative leanings. They have to be apolitical in their careers because they have to work with, for, and gain the trust of people from all points of the spectrum. The things people like John O. Brennan and Michael Hayden have been saying are unprecedented. It’s an unmistakable sign that even battle-scarred, hardened veterans of war and Washington realize what a danger this man is.
I believe Congress is betting the country on Mr. Mueller. If Don Juan removes him, I think that will be the catalyst that causes McConnell & Ryan to remove Don Juan. Similarly, if Mueller makes clear that he is ready to indict a sitting President, I think they will do their utmost to get him to resign but, failing that, they will remove him. Mitch & Paul are in a tough spot on a huge stage, and they have to tread lightly. I could be wrong. The Speaker & the Majority Leader could be as ethically-challenged as the Commander-in-Chief and when their moment of truth comes, as it seems it must, they could prove as spineless and morally compromised as they appear to be.
Did Trump say something about the constitution or is everybody taking what Andy Borrowitz and the onion said seriously? So far a Google search has brought me to a ton of opinions, but no quotes regarding Trump and the constitution.
President George W. Bush did say that the Constitution of the United States was just “a g****m piece of paper.” So other than the Second Amendment, most Republicans now follow that precedent; only the parts they like really matter.
GOP view of the U.S. Constitution: We love the parts that fit our current agenda. The rest…we just ignore that as misguided Liberalism of the 18th century.
Noam Chomsky has called the US Republicans “the most dangerous organization in human history.” He goes further: “Has there ever been an organization in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?” Hyperbole?
Let’s see…what did my mother always tell me? Don’t throw salt in your eyes, don’t congratulate Putin, don’t light The Constitution on fire and don’t have an interview with Robert Mueller!

FECKLESS “LEADERS” – {1.40 limericks}
Mitch and Paul ain’t gutsy
in remarking that Trump has gone nutsy
‘gainst the Constitution’s
firm resolutions
that a Prez canNOT be so putzy
in violations
of its foundations.

{Off the cartoon’s topic:}
CHARACTER-FLAWS – {rhyme}
Let us be
a nation governed by Laws,
not governed by Character-flaws.
Let us see
if Mueller can bring to a pause
the shyster Wizard of Oz
for reasons including because
Trump is the worst ever was.
Let us agree
that we should withhold our applause
from The Donald who sticks in our craws.

{Off the cartoon’s topic:}
JOHN and DONALD are DOLTS – {rhyme}
Bolton is charged with a jillion volts
for thunderous thrashings like lightning bolts.
And like a wild colt,
he kicks whomever he deems
a threat to NeoCons’ schemes.
And Trump is a dolt
who pays this vicious perp heed,
who LIKES his harangue-ing screed.
…
John’s got firmly a holt
on Donald’s destructive designs.
Fiercly we ought to revolt
in hopes that this duo resigns
before it’s too much that they jolt
the world into headlong declines.

{Off the cartoon’s topic:}
FAR-RIGHT HORDES {1.80 limericks}
We citizens shudder and tremble
when Far-Right hordes assemble
as if Genghis Kahn
has already won. -
- And yet the Trumpites dissemble
that these hordes the Kahn’s don’t resemble; …
… that instead they enhance
our nation’s advance, …
…. that these hordes are our nation’s best symbol.

Standing up to Trump! They’re heroes! (Like Flake, who did his little yapdog thing, while voting for everything Trump wanted).
Look, they’re bringing out marshmallows.

Italy had its Mussolini/Fascists,
Argentina had its Peronistas,
Germany had its Hitler/Nazis,
Cuba had its Fidelistas,
Russia had its Stalinists,
China had its Maoists,
And now, at long last, the U. S. has its Tяumpists.
The Party of Tяump, indeed. The Party of Traitors as well.
