Having a nice voice is a chief requirement for being a pilot.

truth be told, a lot of us do care about some of that stuff, which is why the Live Map Channel on the TV can be so popular sometimes.

on the other hand, once you’ve been in an airplane 100 times, you don’t care about it anymore. I’ve seen the silly seat-belt and life-vest demonstration, let me sleep will you?

You should always know how far you have to fall in case the engines quit.

I tried to be a pilot once. But people got scared when I growled.

Some of us like hearing about the altitude and wind direction. We even check the airline magazine maps of flight paths to guess what we’re flying over. And Al, I would personally love it if you sang karaoke.

Actually, I’m always curious what I’m looking at from 35,000 feet and sometimes the information is interesting.

Should we be worried that he wears sunglasses indoors?

What’s the difference between God and a pilot? God doesn’t think he’s a pilot.

If the plane crashes, will he still be singing karaoke?

    Handing Lady: Nervous?

    Ted Striker: Yes.

    Handing Lady: First time?

Ted Striker: No, I’ve been nervous lots of times.

Having a vision of Leslie Nielsen in “Airplane” breaking into a rendition of “Feelings” on the intercom, and it’s not a pretty one.

As long as the pilot talks to us, I know he’s not asleep.

Pilot talk in part is meant to reassure “us” (the Dumb Passengers) that he is competent and that we are In Good Hands with Al. But occasionally it includes something actually interesting: e.g., “And on our left, folks, you can see the starship Enterprise descending toward Star Fleet’s San Francisco headquarters….”
