OOps! It needs a little more work. What a mess it left, and two people hungry!

    As for serving I’d say it’s love/love.

That’s the problem with machines, they do what you tell them to do.

They look rather more resigned than upset.

I think Hilbert, in his constant tinkering, has met with failures before…

Than again, he’s had some successes, too.

Hilaria, like many a Ballard St wife, is proud of her husband’s handiwork, when it’s helpful….

and has learned to take the occasional…. OK, more than occasional… dropped dinners and destroyed dishware in her stride.

Even the smashed sofa, and the shattered lamps.

After all, she loves the mechanical sheet-and-towel-folding arm he made her for their 42nd anniversary….

It made her forget all about the kitchen fire her 41st anniversary gift had caused…

and the 3 dozen or so towels it has torn to bits are a small price to pay.

And surely Hooper will come out from under the bed soon.

The vet says he’ll get over the loss of that barely two inches of his tail.

I think the project needs a little refinement.

Happy is right, not only did the pulley rope break but since Hilbert was banned from the Pulley Club, he has had to make do with ropes and such from 1965. This was a used rope from the ill-fated automatic floor polisher. The ceilings however have never looked so shiny.

It looks like it was made with parts from a Murphy bed. It’s just following Murphy laws.
