Okay, we find the Margies’ business is costumes! (Makes sense.) Panel 3: Peter Pan, “Black Lightning” (In Red!), carrying Bumblebee (of the Teen Titans), farther over is Talky Tawny, Vista Bill (!?!) and Alice (of Waonderland and Looking Glass fame).
With costume disguises to identify, we’ll probably hit 100 comments today. The days we fall short seem to be days when there’s not much going on except crime!
Honeymoon sure eats a lot of junk food! One day she’s gonna regret it. Don’t they teach kids these days to hold on to the handrail when riding an escalator?
Tomorrow I will be mobile again and miss a few days unless we stay over somewhere before getting back to Boulder. Nice Tulip cartoon. Had mail contact with margeuritem and it appears our schedules are not lining up for a meeting. http://image66amarillo.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/sad1.gif
Will be going through Sedona on our way to ‘4-corners’.
@ Ray Toler: Good call! Filler Strip! (I might have been called out if I said it first) But then, I was under the impression that this entire arc was filler! (you know, until the main event of the summer – unless this is going to drag out and take all summer to resolve – which it might just yet!)
@ Neil Wick, re Comment Count: To really blow your mind away, check out Luann which, today, has over 300 comments! And they don’t even have a story yet! They didn’t even bother to resolve their last arc, which ended abruptly on Tuesday! All about teenage crushes – the stuff of 1950s and 1960s Top 40 radio! (Maybe some things never change)
That leering Big Margie-middle panel is the lynchpin, for sure. All the cosplay identifications mostly fly over my head, since I have little to do with most of the characters and the stories/films/TV series/games in which they appear! But it is fun, especially when occasionally I see one that I do recognize!
There may not have been much advancing of the plot today, but it was nonetheless a good day’s strip! Now, Pop Pop has to get cracking on the robbery; maybe the discarded costume in the dumpster will yet turn out to be a useful discovery for Tracy and the cops….
@ Neil Wick: My bad! Only 127 comments on Luann today; the 300+ count came from last week. Even still, that count beat the pants of Dick Tracy! Hmm…Teenage soap operas drawing more readers than crime dramas? I wonder what’s next for Honeymoon!
The thief may not be able to just keep running: I’m sure the location where the cash would be was kept secret, and since the thief knew, it means they had inside information. And if someone just disappeared…

Third Panel, left-to-right, skipping those I’ve no good guess for …
- Princess Mononoke [ From the film by Hayao Miyazaki. ]
- Peter Pan
- Black Lightning [ Costume incorrectly colored. ]
- Skeletor
- Sergio Leone’s ’Man With No Name.
- Naruto Uzamaki [ … the boy with the headband, seen from behind.]

The ‘3 Margies’ have a costume booth!

Astor is wearing his contest costume, so apparently he did enter the contest, even if we didn’t see it.

Who’s the character with the blue hair, holding a guitar …?
And the one next to ‘Jessie’ towards the upper right …?
Think those are the only ones who haven’t been tentatively identified.

The one in the rear, second from the right could be Ashi from Samurai Jack.

If that one kid is trying to be Steven Universe, he’s got the wrong shirt. Steven’s shirt is red with a yellow star.

Filler strip. Nobody knew that everyone is in disguise. They had to run a separate strip to inform everybody.

I was hoping we’d have a twist with an unknown beating Middle Margie to the crime, but it looks like it’s just you-know-who-dunit.

Before the end of the day, someone should compile a list of all the different guesses as to who is being cosplayed.
I don’t think anyone has figured out the blue-haired character with the guitar yet.

@ AnyFace: Don’t forget that on weekdays, GoComics does the coloring, so the blue hair might not even be accurate!

Yes, Honeymoon, robbers always stick around after committing their crime instead of, you know, running off as far as they can as fast as they can,.
