Re: The armor: An interesting tidbit I picked up at an Albuquerque museum was that part of the attraction of America for the Conquistadors was that they could be “knights in shining armor” when their foes idn’t have muskets making it obsolete.

New Mexico was the huge area in upper Mexico that the US took from Mexico.Why we had that US-Mexican War 1846-1848 in the first place.

The indians kept the settlers from starving by showing them what foods to eat since they hadn’t the sense or skill to work it out for themselves (and some had the attitude that the servant class was to do that for them in any event).

News Flash: The Pilgrims had a celebration and thanked God after they finally discarded communal living (which was a disaster) and embraced free enterprise, which gave them an abundance of resources. The Indians/natives came by and brought a TON of food and the festivities lasted for days.
