In 1853, just as he was about to go home broke, the manufacturer issued a recall. Seems it was a bad idea to print the instructions on the bottom.

I’ve actually tried panning gold. My take so far, three tiny specks. I love the instructions that come with gold pans: “First pick out any large nuggets.” Like the pre-wash instructions for my pants; “Remove all large wads of bills.”

2 URLs (copy each as one long line). 1st has links that point to info about the painting, and artist’s Wikipedia page. 2nd has info about the artist.

For those having trouble using the URLs, GC’s new policy regarding comments no longer allows me to use hyperlinks.

If you don’t know how to copy them, point your mouse at the URL start, and press it while you move it over the URL to the end (that should highlight the URL), then, while holding down the Ctrl (control) key on a PC or the ⌘ key on a Mac, press the c key (what Ctrl-c or ⌘-c means) to copy it, and finally, highlight the full browser address (gocomics.com) and paste (Ctrl-v or ⌘-v).

Once when Riders in the Sky were camping in Frankie Valley (“That’s high country!”), Side Meat used his gold pan to do some Chinese cooking, so he could Wok Like a Man. He flavored it with Sherry. Then they went to bed so they could get up at Dawn.
