Try more honesty and less deceit. If she’s looking for a one night stand, trickery might work. Not a good way to start any kind of long term friendship.

Actually, Tiffany’s “Zeye” character obviously owes a lot to Barbarella, so she’s probably studied the movie quite carefully for a long time. Maybe Tiff thinks she can now learn more from studying some silent films instead, which she probably has less chance to view.

Bernice’s pants are gray in the first panel and in the second panel her pants are black? I also noticed that in the Luann’s Spanish version Bernice’s pants are black in both panels.

I wonder if Tiffany watched a silent movie with Piro and that is why is appreciates them now. The movie game is what dropping a handkerchief used to be: an invitation for discussion or introduction.

I realize it’s Luannverse, or Luannville here. And Dez managed to divert Tiffany’s attention away from Bernice’s purpose. But the announcement is still posted on that bulletin board and there will be others who simply have an interest in silent films. Will Dez be around to steer everybody else away? Plus the “fest” is in the Commons Room.

Aside from sleeping (illegally) in the dorms, do we know whether Piro spends any time there during the day? After all, he doesn’t have a room in the dorms, and for all we know he may not even be a student.

It could indeed well turn out that most of the students have seen “Barbarella” a few times already but are less familiar with silent movies, and they are interested in seeing Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, etc. Bernice could find that she and Piro are “alone” in a crowded room.

Actually, this whole convoluted melodrama sounds like the plot for a silent movie, “The Perils of Bernice”. Let’s cheer for the leading lady to be swept off her feet by the brooding hero Piro, and let’s hiss at the evil villain, Tiffany, who tries to thwart this budding romance. What’s that, you say? Piro turns out to be a psycho, and Bernice winds up getting tied to the railroad tracks? Summon the brave and noble Gunther to dash in and use his Peruvian rope-untying skills to free her from a certain death and win her heart forever!

Look for this story to be staged in a Quill-Pru production at the Fuse, running from now until TJ finally burns the place down.

[a.]Anything unattempted remains impossible..Now you are being silly. A researcher has calculated the 2,000,000,000,000,000th digit of the mathematical constant pi – and a few digits either side of it.[ BBC-news]. Therefore 2.8 quadrillion digits is impossible, by your rule. Everyone likes a little [ass], but no one likes a smart [ass] I asked my wife, who said, “That’s not true. I like you even though you are a smart ass.” It might be that only she and my sister share that view, however.

However, I was thinking the ayahuasca would help in that regard.

I realize that almost everyone here hates Tiffany, because they think (perhaps correctly) that the Evanses want them to, but why is everyone so eager to interpret her interest in both silent movies and “Barbarella” as showing that she’s stupid? Remember that (unlike Luann) Tiffany has had a driving ambition in life, namely becoming an actress, and she has worked hard to achieve that goal, so of course she’s deeply interested in lots of different kinds of movies. It is natural that she likes “Barbarella”, since Elwood hired her to play the character “Zeye” in a Barbarella-like video game, and she has gone on to play that same character at comics and gaming conventions to promote sales of the game, and she had a small part as an extra (and as a production assistant) on a movie version. It is also natural that, as an acting student in Mrs. Manzone’s drama program at Moony, she is interested in learning the very visual style of acting that was used in the silent movies. Since the actors couldn’t rely on their voices to use emotions, they had to tell the whole story with their faces, and that’s a valuable lesson for student actors. As former silent-movie star Norma Desmondn said in Sunset Boulevard, “We had FACES then!”
