How can you amputate your self?

I don’t like to think of it as self amputation.I prefer to use the term “dissociative phantom component”.Now I need to hear Johnny Cash’s version of It Ain’t Me Babe.

Amputation of the “self” is very rare … ’tis easier to just assume a new ID.

Yeah?You are historically correct, but so what?Nowadays, minor frostbite is treatable, while extreme cases still may require amputation. But “self-amputation” due to frostbite is pretty rare….Chewing your own arm off is best left to Petey Otterloop.
