I remember seeing a strip in “The Lighter Side of…” in Mad Magazine once. There was a couple arguing, and the wife complained that the husband never said anything nice about her family. He disagreed, and when she told him to say something nice about them, he replied “Your inlaws are much nicer than my inlaws”.
Our eldest daughter was pregnant with fraternal twins and lost one of them, which was devastating. Her daughter (the surviving twin) was a whip – not a bad kid, and probably no more “whippy” than most children – and the general tag line was “just be glad you didn’t have two of her”.
