    Put on your robe and head upstairs! Your mom is calling you to eat your egg salad sandwich and pick up your laundry.

    “There is no Birther like a Dem Lib Birther.”-Right. Except for that pesky little fact:Cruz actually was born in a foreign country, as a Canadian citizen. He is a naturalized, not natural born citizen.

    I wonder if Donald Trump (chief fundraiser for Willard the ChickenHawk) has people on the ground in Canada investigating the circumstances of Cruz’ birth.

    So, MS58, is Ted Cruz constitutionally eligible to be president of the U.S.?-If you decide to respond, please be sure to include a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’.

    I don’t understand why anyone would want to reduce the chances of Cruz running by pointing out that he isn’t a natural-born citizen. I mean, for the Republicans he embodies all they stand for. And for the Democrats, he embodies all the Republicans stand for. Should make for an easy Democrat win for the Presidency.

    And still no yes or no. If Cruz IS eligible, then so was Obama. And since Cruz says he’ll RENOUNCE his Canadian citizenship, that means he’s CANADIAN BY BIRTH, and therefore NOT ELIGIBLE!

    Hear, hear… Have open primaries in all states so we can get more sane centrists on the tickets…

    " I for one would like two good, viable candidates and to have a choice."At the present with the Tea Party running the party I wouldn’t vote for a Republican presidential candidate no matter how good the individual is. I’d prefer to see Elizabeth Warren vs a Cruz/Palin ticket.

    “…the embodiment of all the oppression and evil that is in the republican party,…”.If only Republicans were benevolent like Democrats who are willing to let children rot with cancer for political gain…

    “What does it matter where a fellow is born? Why don’t we pick leaders by their capabilities?”Plus it’s quite possible that immigrants who chose to move here are far more patriotic, as well as knowledgable about our government, than some of the people who were born and raised here."A Harris Poll for the American Bar Association in 2005 found that 22% of respondents thought the three branches of government were “Republican, Democrat and Independent.” Two-thirds of Americans couldn’t name a single sitting Supreme Court justice in 2003, and fewer than 1% could name all nine. In 1987, about half of Americans thought Karl Marx’s dictum “from each according to his ability to each according to his needs” was in the U.S. Constitution. In 1964, only 38% of the American people were certain the Soviet Union wasn’t in NATO."http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2013/09/29/obamacare-affordable-care-act-obama-column/2892183/

    “McCain was born in an American base”You don’t think being born on an American base vs on foreign territory should be a distinction?

    @braindead08

    Cruz’ mother is a US citizen, so Cruz is a citizen by birth. That being said, I have encountered one Birfer who says he isn’t “Natural Born” for some bizarre reason.

    Most Birfers, though, are quite happy to ignore the facts (but when was that news?)

    “his actual original long form birth certificate – it was exposed by a number of investigations to be an obvious “cut ’n paste” fraud”Yeah, you read that on the internet, so it must be true…LOL!http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthers/birthcertificate.aspI also find it amusing that his birth was reported in the local Hawaiian newspaper…clever of those Muslim agents to have done that, just in case he ever ran for President!

    As long as your Mother is a citizen you can be born anywhere and still claim Natural citizenship.-——My research has told me that citizenship was originally based in English Common Law, which dictated that citizenship was conferred through the father. (?)

    Apparently there is much contained in those records that would be fodder and ammunition for everything from embarrassment to impeachment…-————-As I read through your post, I couldn’t help but draw an analogous parallel:

    I was camping out with a friend of mine. In the shadows, just out of view from the campfire, I saw something moving. I told my friend, “There’s a ghost over there in the bushes!” .My friend asked, “How can you be sure?”.I told him, “There is no other explanation for it! I know it was a ghost because it was moving! Besides, you can’t prove it wasn’t a ghost, can you?”

    If Cruz had real guts he’d use his real given name, not a nickname. However, that might give pause to the typical Texas voter – “Rafael” sounds both foreign and feminine.
