“Everything in moderation, including moderation.” (On a quick search, I found that basic idea attributed to Ben Franklin, Mark Twain, and Oscar Wilde …?)

Paha-siga: Yes, it’s common knowledge that Pig loves pork products. The title of the first Pearls book is “BLTs Taste So Darn Good” and shows Pig eating the aforementioned sandwich. Many of Pig’s deceased relatives have come back from time to time as delicious and tasty treats! Especially his aunt Vivian and uncle George.

Had to look it up: “But at over 400 calories and more than 45 grams of fat from just the two ounces of butter even before it is put in the deep fat fryer”.

Boy, some Americans really are trying to commit suicide through food…..

Here in the South, we call the fryer the “Southern Oven” and a friendlier term for deep frying is “deep sauteing.”

Just to remind everyone again, factory farmed animals are routinely fed animal parts as part of their regular diet. How do you think mad cow disease gets around so fast? Brains.

I eat whatever is the cheapest since that is all I can afford, which sadly is the most unhealthy. I have tried for years to eat the healther stuff but a money doesn’t make it a whole month that way.

Bacon taste best when it is so crisp that it cracks into shards, just like glass, when dropped on a hard surface. The trick is to stop frying them five seconds before they taste like ashes, which in turn is a few seconds before they actually turn into ash. You have to learn the hard way when that point in time is for a given combination of stove, frying pan, and make of bacon (and slice thickness obviously, if you slice it yourself…).

Real pigs will eat almost anything. Sows will eat their new born (a lack of iron can be one cause). Sometimes they just develope a taste for meat of any type.
