When I was a kid, my ol’ Grampa once told me, he said: “boy, the amount of money you need to earn, in order to be considered wealthy nowadays, is just enough whereas you can judge your financial success by whether or not you’re still flyin’ commercial.”

As I got on my bicycle, I couldn’t help but think: Crap! If I’m gonna have to buy my own airplane, I’m definitely gonna have this paper route a couple months longer than I planned on!

A friend was raising turkeys (not a huge farm — just a small one for local markets) when he noticed a flock of wild turkeys hanging around the fencing. One day the wild turkeys busted through the fence, and set his turkeys free. According to him, his turkeys joined the wild ones and formed a gang. Don’t ask me how true it is, but I like to think of The Wild Turkey Gang out there somewhere.

Looks like the turkey who says “Ni !”.

Search for the “Iowa Turkey Federation” and check out the Darth Gobbler that stands guard outside the headquarters.

He reminds me of ED-209 in the RoboCop movie.

A little early to be shopping for Thanksgiving, isn’t it? …Or a little late, I suppose.

Turkeys are bolder than you think. I’ve seen them walk around public areas during thanksgiving season basically not giving a hoot
